Posting Your Player Development MSRs

The end of the MSR cycle is quickly approaching so it’s important to make sure you’ve received credit for everything you’ve done during this period so that you are able to maintain your PGA Membership. To check your current status, you may click here to log in to PGA.org.

In June 2011, The PGA of America announced it would now award MSR credits for Player Development. The credits for Golf 2.0/Player Development must be earned via the reporting of actual creation, activation and engagement of golfers into programming that supports Golf 2.0 initiatives and related program administration. These player development credits count toward the “Required” category just like meetings and education have in the past.

The key is you must report your programs to receive credit. There are a number of ways to report your player development programs and we will highlight them below.

1. Did you post your programs to ACTIVE? Programs posted on PGA of America websites through ACTIVE Works are actually ready for MSR posting. You simply have to go in and select which PGA Professionals at your facility receive the credits. Visit the MSR Center on PlayGolfAmerica.com and select your program and you will be prompted through a series of screens to award MSRs.

2. MSRs for Player Development Programs not Posted on PGA of America Websites Visit the MSR Center on PlayGolfAmerica.com

As the “Experts in the Game and Business of Golf” the power of education is the single most important way to help enhance and transform our industry. Many of today’s thriving industries outside of the golf industry have alluded to the fact that there is a strong correlation between the economic viability of an industry and its education attained by those who work in it.

The current MSR cycle is roughly 4 months away from coming to a close and it is a priority of the Section to provide meaningful educational opportunities for you to meet these requirements. To review your current MSR status, please go to www.pgalinks.com and login. Under “your membership data” will be your current credits earned and what is still required.

To receive MSR’s for your Player Development Program, please complete the “MSR Report Form” and submit it to Nebraska Section Player Development Coordinator, Joe Canny, PGA at [email protected] or by fax 402-489-1785.

The 2015 Annual Operations Survey is now available

to the highest ranked PGA Professional at each

facility, or to any Professional with proxy rights

through PerformanceTrak. In addition to earning up

to 2 MSR credits by completing the survey by June

10, 2015 (Provided the maximum for this category

has not been met), PGA Professionals will also

benefit with important research data that can help:

The invoices for

FY15/16 annual PGA

dues billing will be

available on

PGALinks.com/PGA.org the week of May 4, 2015.

Each individual with an email address will receive a

notification by email advising them that the invoices

are available. Once an individual logs on, there will

be an active dues billing link with the dues balance

displayed that will take them to the secure website to

view, print and/or pay the annual dues. Those

persons without an email address will receive a

printed invoice by mid-May. Remember, apprentices

will be billed for Term Life Insurance that become

effective July 1, 2015 at an annual cost of $34.

Therefore, all apprentices will see an increase in their

annual dues invoice. Assistance from the Section is

always appreciated with these major projects. Your

continued review and approval of employment, class

and/or Section changes in a timely manner will be

most welcome. As you know, members and

apprentices are billed based upon where they are

located and what they are doing as of May 1.

Nebraska Section

PGA event of the

year at The Players Club at Deer Creek. Kevin Drew,

PGA of the Field Club of Omaha, Nick Wanderscheid,

PGA of Green Valley G.C. and 2014 Player of the

Year, Shane Zywiec, PGA of Seward paced the field

by posting a one-over-par 72. Drew was one-under-

par for the day heading into his 18th hole but an

untimely double-bogey finish put him in a tie for first

Yamaha Golf Cars 27-hole

Pro-Am. Ryan Vermeer of

Tiburon G.C. used some home

course knowledge to pace the

professional field by posting a

tournament best, eight-under-

par 100 total. Vermeer made

six birdies, one eagle, and no bogeys on the day.

Player of the Year in 2012, Jon Petersen, PGA also of

Tiburon G.C. finished five strokes back at three-

under-par 105. Rounding out the top three was a tie

between Jim White, PGA MP of Firethorn G.C. and

Shane Zywiec, PGA of Seward CC who shot

two-under-par 106.

Bob Walker and his teams stellar play all day

catapulted them to capture the low team title at 26-

under-par. Walkers amateur partners included Pat

O’Brien, Dave Nissen, Neil Huseman. Finishing in

second place was the team of Shane Zywiec, PGA,

Scott Buller, Rich McLaughlin and Jon Cole.

Lincoln, NE. – Area amateur and PGA Professional golfers teed off for first of two National Car Rental PGA Pro-Am Series at Hillcrest C.C. Professional and Amateur golfers competing in one of Nebraska’s largest Pro-Am’s of the year were

treated to near perfect golfing conditions. Tom Hearn, PGA of The PGA TOUR and Shane Zywiec, PGA of Seward C.C. capitalized on these conditions to share the low professional title at even-par 72. Both professionals had a rocking front nine but finished in style by birding the par 4 #17 and par 5 #18 hole. Finishing one stroke back at one -over-par 73 was Nick Wanderscheid, PGA of Green Valley G.C. and Ryan Vermeer of Tiburon G.C. The team competition featured two net best balls of four. It was a shootout with Matt Shaner, PGA of Kearney C.C. and his amateur partners, Bill Shaner, John Clare and Mark Morrissey at an impressive 14-under-par.
