1. Feature Description, Integrity, Eligibility:

SITS# 32 BE

The feature is a one room prairie school sitting on a concrete foundation . The gable roof is covered with asphalt shingles with metal capping and finials . The soffits are open. there is a concrete block chimney at the peak of the roof at the west end. The building measures 24 1/2 feet west to east and 18 1/2 feet north to south . There is an outline on the east side of the school that shows where an entry used to be attached to the building.

There is a wide trim board running under the peak ends of the roof to begins the siding. The remainder of the siding is 6 inch wood lap with 4 inch corner trim . There is no door, just an opening. There are remnants of double hung windows on the north and south walls , 3 on each side. One is shuttered and the other 5 have framing with no glass. The walls and ceiling are finished with wallboard. There is a blackboard on 1/2 of the west wall. Light fixtures in the school would suggest the presence of electricity.
