About Yemen : Site : South Waste Arab peninsula ,it lies
between Latitudes 12◦ and 23 ◦ N and Longitudes 42 ◦ and 54 ◦ E.
Area : 455,024 square km = 45,550,245 ha. Cultivation Land : 1,240,988 ha=2.7 % Of total area . Non suitable land :39,000,000 ha = 85.4 % of total area ( national degradation study , 2002 )
Population : 20 million (2004), Expected that Reached to 50 million(2031)in growth population 3.1, (statistical office ,2004).
Land Resources In Yemen : Land resources are extremely limited in Yemen. Most Of agricultural Land is Mountain terraces. the population density is very high in these areas. coastal and plain lands are also limited due to
water resources. Land degradation and desertification are
significant issues. Climate change is a critical issue in Yemen . Water is a limited resource in Yemen.
