Calendar

• Meetings will take place on

• We will be signing up for different

committees today.

– JDRF (Shabnam)

– Scrapbooking (Diana)

– Phoenix Project (Joaquin)

– Nursing Home (Erica) – Relay for Life (Mitch/Kaeliegh)

– Blood Drive (Alora)

Relay for Life

• Relay for Life is fast approaching!

• If you would like to be a team captain, please

listen for an announcement of an upcoming

captain’s meeting.

• If you would not like to be on a team, but

would like to help out those opportunities will

be coming out at a later date.• For further information, please talk to Kate,

Joaquin, Shabby, Mitch, or Kaeliegh.



Committees Cont.

• The Nursing Home Committee (Erica)

• Blood Drive (Alora)



Hours Deadline

• Hours will be due Friday February 26th – This consists of 20 total hours. (Remember

that general meetings count for half an hour)

• Hours Recap. – By the end of the year every member needs

40 total hours.

– At least 20 of these hours have to be NHS

– 10 total hours (individual or NHS) have to betutoring



Folders

• Every NHS members will have a green

folder located in the crate

• Each member is responsible for filing their

hours in their folders

• Remember that this is where all your

hours go!



Hour Opportunities

• The following slides will be different

volunteer opportunities for NHS hours



Tutoring

• Every Monday/Tuesday/Thursday morning

and every Tuesday/Thursday afternoon

we will have tutoring in the upstairs yellow

pod

• We must have at least three NHS students

there every morning to lead the tutoring

• Sign up sheets for tutoring will be on the

NHS board



Other Events

• Soup Kitchen- Over Spring break, group of

students go to a soup kitchen and serve to

the community. 15 volunteers needed

• Science Camp- In the end of April, there will

be a science camp at WJHS on a Saturday

morning. More details to come.

• Need 6-10 members to work concessionstand on Saturday, Feb 6th at Cottage

Grove Middle School. 7 a.m. – noon.

T-Shirts

• Due to a screening jam, we have

essentially been forced to start again with

the t-shirts. We are very sorry and hope to

get those to you as soon as possible.
