A-11 1940s WWII Pattern Military Watch (Automatic) Product Code: A-11 The A-11 was among the first military watches to be equipped with a sweep second hand. This recreation is based closely on the original World War Two design from 1943 but has the advantage that it is now equipped with a self winding 22 jewel movement. The watches at the time were made in a variety of slightly different styles by Elgin, Bulova and Waltham but were all based on an original US government specification laid down at the time. This watch is closest in appearance to the Elgin 539 which used a 15 or 16 jewel movement and were made for the USAAF between 1940 and 1945. The original watch was made from plated basemetal (to save steel) but this modern recreation is solid stainless steel so it should stand the test of time better than the originals.

This particular recreation came into being because in January 2009 we were approached by a US veterans association who asked us to examine the viability of making a watch which was identical in appearance to the original watches which were made by Hamilton, Bulova and Benrus during the Vietnam war. We were sent samples of watches to examine and also the original specification sheets and the result was a watch which was very close to the original and used a high grade fully jewelled handwound movement, this watch was the GG-W-113 which we still make. As a result of making that watch we were contacted again with a view to recreating this even earlier model because these are now almost impossible to find in good sound condition. The reason that finding one is good order is dificult is primarily because as outlined above most were made from 1943 onwards when resources were limited and hence cheap metal was used.

1960s/70s Vietnam's Pattern Mechanical Military Watch Product Code: GG-W-113 In October 1962 the US Government set down a specification for infantry watches which became known as GG-W-113 this was MIL-W-3818B which replaced MIL-W-3818A from March 1956. - MWC W10 Automatic Product Code: MWC W10BD This W10 was the predecessor to the quartz G10 models introduced in 1979 and still used by the armed forces of today. This model is a slightly updated version of the original 1960/70s model. The watch is outwardly identical to the original models except that it now has a screw back for easier maintenance and a date at 3 o'clock which is not shown in the image - it should be noted that earlier versions were serviced by removing the glass which made servicing impractical except by the manufacturer. The watch has a heavy stainless steel satin finsh case, it is very robust and tough and built to endure the most extreme of conditions, sweep second hand, black dial and luminous markings with fixed strap bars. MWC G10 LM 12/24 US Pattern Military Watch Product Code: G10LM1224PVD The G10LM in black PVD stainless steel is our latest G10 model and is a slightly smaller more compact version of the MWC G10 100m. The G10LM replaces several variants of the MWC G10A and although it is identical in size and appearance to the G10A it has a date window, 50m (165ft) water resistance, screw caseback and screw strap pins. The advantage of screw strap pins it that they have the strength of military fixed pins but provide complete flexibility to use straps which are designed for watches with civilian spring pins so where other G10 manufacturers use fixed bars forcing owners to use NATO straps this watch enables you to use any type of strap you choose. Although this watch is similar in appearance to some competitors models it is vastly different in the actual specification details.

For example where competitors watches usually have a push on caseback this has a screw caseback, competitors frequently use perspex crystal whereas we use actual glass which is much more scratch resistant.
