Happy Birthday !Mit dieser mushroom Ausgabe feiern wir doch tatsächlich unseren 15. Pilzge-burtstag. Wer hätte 1994 gedacht, dass unsere heiß geliebte Goabravo es tat-sächlich durch so manche Krise bis in dieses stolze Alter schafft? Gestartet als kopierter 4-Seiter mit lokaler Verteilung im norddeutschen Raum entwickelten wir uns zum internationalen Trancemag. Wir begleiteten die Szene durch Ihre kreative Hochzeit Ende der Neunziger, erlebten aber auch den CD-Kopierwahn und damit das Labelsterben. Wir tanzten uns frei von gesellschaftlichen Zwängen und diskutierten an fernen Plätzen über den Sinn des Lebens. Wir sahen mehre-re Trancegenerationen mit neuen Wer-ten kommen. Wir erlebten Evolution und Innovation. Ich hoffe Du hast in den letzten Jahren auch so viele wertvolle Erfahrungen innerhalb unserer Commu-nity gemacht und Deinen eigenen Tran-ce-Weg gefunden. In diesem Heft möchten wir Dir viele schöne Feste empfehlen, wo Du unser mushroom Jubiläum und auch den 20. Geburtstag der Trance Gemeinde feiner kannst. Deshalb haben wir kurzerhand das Juni/Juli Heft zum Festival Special aus-erkoren. Ebenso wollen wir nun aber auch endlich die Gewin-ner des Producer Contests bekannt geben. Es hat uns sehr gefreut, dass mehr als 1500 Leser über die fettesten Tracks abgestimmt haben. Das nächste Heft für August/September erscheint in der ersten August-Hälfte. Wir wünschen Dir bis dahin viele magische Momente. See you on the dancefloor!

In fact we are celebrating the 15th mushroom birthday with this issue. Who would have thought that our beloved Goa yellow press would pass quite some crisis and reach this remarkable age back in 1994, when it all began? Starting with only four pages, hand-copied and with a distribution in the area of North Germany we became an international Trance magazine. We accompanied the scene during its golden age in the late nineties but also experienced the times of massive music piracy and therefore the decline of the label landscape. We danced free our selves from social forces and discussed the sense of life at remo-te places. We saw several generations of Trancers coming, each one with another attitude. We witnessed evolution and innovation. I hope you also gathered so much precious experiences with our scene during the past years and found your own way of Trance.In this issue we want to recommend you many great parties where you can cele-

brate our mushroom anni-versary and also the 20th birthday of the global Tran-ce community. So we deci-ded to make this June / July issue a Festival Special.Finally we also want to announce the winners of the Producer Contest. We are very happy that more then 1500 readers contri-buted the voting about the very best tracks. The next issue for August / Septem-ber will be published in the first half of August. Till then we wish you many magic moments – See you on the dancefloor!

endlich die Gewinner des dies-jährigen mushroom Produ-cer Contest! Auf dem Psychedelic Floor hat der Künstler Synesthetic den Vogel abgeschossen, sein melodiöser Titel „Earth Energy“ führt uns auf kurzwei-ligen Pfaden in beachtliche psychede-lische Tiefen. Sein Kollege Blindflug landete mit dem Track „Dirty Feet“ einen wunder-

bar leichten und sonnigen Progres-sive Kracher und damit geradewegs auf Platz 1 des Hörervotings. Im Chill Out kam der Titel „Eur-opa“ von Ambientium am besten an, dessen psychoaktive Soundflächen einen richtig weit raus treiben las-sen. Alle drei Gewinnertracks werden nun einem professionellen Maste-ring unterzogen und dann weltweit digital veröffentlicht. Zudem werden wir in den kommenden Ausgaben die Gewinner und natürlich auch ihre Kollegen von Platz 2 und 3, deren hervorragende Arbeit wir hier nicht unterschlagen möchten, in Interviews vorstellen.

It lasted quite some time but it has not been an easy job for us: Here we go finally with the winners of this year’s mushroom Producer Contest!The artist Synesthetic hit the bull’s eye on the Psychedelic Floor: His melo-dious track “Earth Energy” follows entertaining paths to remarkable psy-chedelic depths. With “Dirty Feet” his colleague Blindflug delivers a wonder-ful bouncing and positive Progres-sive hit that went straight to position one of our listeners voting.

In the Chill Out area Ambientium’s “Europa” went down best, its psycho-active sound layers make one drifting really far away. All three winner tracks will be professionally mastered now and then be digitally published world wide. Furthermore our upcoming issues will feature the winners and of course also their colleagues from place 2 and 3, about whose great work we don’t want to keep quiet about, in extensive interviews.

Eine spektakuläre Special Edition des Viertages-Festivals Antaris fin-det am zweiten Juli-Wochenende im brandenburgischen Stölln statt. Dann verwandelt sich der wunder-schöne Flugplatz Otto Lilienthal in der Nacht zu einem gigantischen Lichtermeer und am Tag zu einem flirrenden Camp aus unzähligen Zel-ten. Zum Sound von Trance, Pro-gressive, Techno, Minimal und Elec-tro treffen sich tausende Besucher aus aller Welt, um vier Tage und drei Nächte lang unter dem Motto „Laugh & Dance, it’s for your eyes, your ears and your heart“ mit mehr als 25 internationalen Liveacts und 60 DJs die beiden Dancefloors zu

Den zweiten Floor verwandeln zwei zusätzlich ins Team geholte Künstler, Barbarella und Hoobee, für geschlagene 72 Stunden in eine fantastische Tanz-Manege. An amazing special edition of the 4-day-festival Antaris will take place on the second weekend of july on the historical Otto Lilienthal Airport in Stölln. In the night these beautiful green fields will be transformed into a spectacular sea of light, and in the daytime a buzzing playground for likeminded trancers, artists and freespirited travellers. For four days and three nights more than 25 Live-acts and over 60 Djs will rock under the motto “Laugh & Dance, it´s for your eyes, your ears and your heart!”. Apart from the internati-onal music lineup on two floors and the magical decoration there is other reasons for a visit to Anta-ris this year. Antaris, as one of the oldest electronic music festivals, will celebrate it´s 15th anniversary and deserves a special birthday party.

After a complicated year 2008 for the trance scene that saw a lot of events in Germany closing down and in the face of economical down-turn, Antaris-Project moves at full steam ahead. We will certainly not let econimic pressures force us to abandon the quality standards we have set for ourselves. The Sternengucker and Infin E.T. will create a day and night-time decoration that is yet to be seen. On the Mainfloor we will not only have enough space to dance and fly, there will also be a bomba-stic blacklight deco and lasershow. The P.A. will be supplied by PAM, who will put up one of Berlins best soundsystem for us. The Alterna-tive Floor will be transformed into a fairy wonderland by two new arri-vals in our team, deco artists Barba-

rella and Hoobee. For more than 72 hours you will be able to dance in this fantastic atmosphere.Last but not least the Antaris as such a big festival might happen for the last time. This 15th edition is a call to our superspecial regu-lar audience and all the newcomers to not let this awesome mega event pass them by. Es war ein langer Weg: Mehr als 5000 Straßenkilometer hat Veran-stalter Scotty auf der Suche nach einer neuen Heimat für sein Baby zurückgelegt. Nach 7 Jahren auf der gleichen Location schien die Zeit einfach reif für eine Abwechslung, für etwas Neues. Und so erwartet die Besucher des VuuV Festivals in diesem Jahr eine neue Örtlichkeit. Wirklich umgewöhnen muss man sich trotzdem nicht, denn die lange Suche endete letztendlich dort, wo sie angefangen hat: In Putlitz!

Mit vielen Bäumen und einem Fluss-lauf ist der neue Platz eigentlich sogar noch schöner und gemüt-licher. Vorteilhaft ist außerdem, dass

man das Freibad und den Ort mit seinen Einkaufsmög-lichkeiten nun ganz bequem zu Fuß erreichen kann, ohne dabei die Straße benutzen zu müssen. Was sich mit der neuen Location nicht ändert, ist der gewohnt hohe Stan-dard des VuuV Festivals: Soundtechnisch wird auf dem Mainfloor wieder die eigens

für diese Veranstaltung zusammen-gestellte Anlage erklingen, auf dem zweiten Floor sorgt das bereits vom letzten Jahr bekannte System für unglaublichen Druck und gleichzei-tige Brillanz. Das Lineup wird tradi-tionell geheim gehalten aber sagen wir mal so: Es entspricht der Quali-tät dieser Veranstaltung... Und auch optisch werden Superlative aufge-fahren, diesmal gibt es zum Beispiel ein neu entwickeltes audio-visuelles Konzept von Psynema. Mit immer noch 50% ausländischem Besucher-anteil genießt die VuuV nach wie vor den Ruf des internationalsten Festivals auf deutschem Boden und bietet eine schlichtweg einmalige Atmosphäre.

It’s been a long way: Promoter Scotty travelled more then 5000 kilometres on the streets of North-East Germany to find a new home for his baby. After 7 years on the same venue the time had come for some variation, for something new. And so a new location welcomes the visitors of this year’s VuuV Festival. But in fact you don’t really have to re-adapt because the long search found its end where it originally started: In Putlitz again!

With lots of trees and the course of a river the new venue is actually even more beautiful und cosy. Also the fact that one can reach the outdoor swimming pool and the city of Put-litz with its various shopping facili-ties by foot now without using the street is very convenient. What does not change with the new location is the usual very high standard of VuuV Festival: The mainfloor is equipped with the famous sound system again which has been specially designed for this event and on the second floor the same system like last year will deliver indescribable pressure and brilliance at the same time. The lin-

eup is traditionally kept secret, but let’s say: It is appropriate for the overall standard of this event… And also the optical aspect comes with quite some superlatives: This time there will be an extra developed audio-visual concept by Psy-nema. With 50% foreign visi-tors, VuuV is still the most inter-national Trance festival on Ger-man grounds and features a simply unique atmosphere.

Ein flacher Acker, irgendwo mitten im Niemandsland: Im Moment das typische Ziel für unsere wochen-endlichen Aktivitäten. Sicher keine schlechte Wahl aber ein bisschen Abwechslung kann ja nie scha-den. Warum also nicht einen Abste-cher in den Wald riskieren? Dabei braucht man nicht mal auf unsere geliebte Party zu verzichten, ganz im Gegenteil: Zwischen den Bäumen

eröffnet sich ein kunterbuntes Wun-derland aus Licht, Farben und trei-benden Klängen!Als Festival fällt die Wonderland in erster Linie durch ihren sehr spe-ziellen Austragungsort aus der Reihe: Alle Assoziationen, welche der Name Waldfrieden weckt, ent-sprechen der Wirklichkeit und so erwarteten die Besucher zwei Frei-lufttanzflächen mitten im sommer-lichen Wald. Auf dem hügeligen Gelände findet sich außerdem ein gemütliches Haus, das einen wei-teren Floor beherbergt. Hier und auf der großen Außentanzfläche wird es musikalisch ausschließlich

feinsten Psychedelic und Progres-sive Trance geben, der zweite Out-doorbereich bietet alternative elek-tronische Musik, die gerne auch in Richtung Techno geht. Am Samstag-abend wird es ein Konzert der Live-Trance Kombo Orange geben, pas-send dazu zaubert ein Feuerwerk bunte Farben an den Himmel über dem Wald. Food zu fairen Preisen. Klamotten und Wertsachen sind in der großen Garderobe sicher aufgehoben und auch die Anreise mit öffentlichen Verkehrsmitteln gestaltet sich ausge-sprochen komfortabel: Vom Bahn-hof Lemförde wird es während des gesamten Festivals einen kosten-losen Shuttleverkehr geben!

A flat acre, in the middle of nowhere: At the moment this is the typical destination for our weekend activities. For sure not a bad choice but some variation won’t hurt. So why not risk a little excursion into the forest? Here you don’t even have to abandon our beloved party, quite the opposite: Between the trees a multicoloured wonderland reveals, an ocean of light, colours and frisky sounds!Waldfrieden Wonderland steps out of the line of Psy Trance festivals pri-marily because of its very special venue: Waldfrieden means “Forest peace” in German and all associa-tions you have with this name now are totally true. So visitors will find two dance floors in the middle of the summer woods. There is also a cosy house on the hilly venue which hosts another floor. Here and on the bigger outdoor dance floor only finest Psychedelic and Progressive Trance will be played, the other out-door area features alternative elec-tronic music and quite some nice Techno music. On Saturday night the live Trance combo Orange will play and perfectly suitable a fire-works will conjure up fantastic lights on the sky above the forest. The cre-ature comforts will be served by various bio food shops with a fair price structure. Clothes and goods of value can be stored safely in the house and also the arrival with public transport is very comfortable: There will be a free shuttle service from and to the train station Lem-förde during the whole festival!

In den letzten Jahren hat sich das Spiritual Healing Open Air zu einem wahren Kultfestival entwickelt. Das mag zum einen an dem inten-siven Szeneengagement der Veran-stalter Peter (DJ Pi) und Konstan-tin (Lightrocker) liegen, die man auf sämtlichen Partys zwischen Ham-burg und Berlin sichten kann. Zum anderen zeichnet sich das gemüt-

liche Festival durch ein ganz eigenes Konzept aus, wie schon sein Name andeutet. Schließlich kann die Spi-ritual Healing mit einer der wohl schönsten Locations der Region aufwarten.

Ein wesentlicher Bestandteil des Festivals ist die Healing Area mit ver-schiedenen Vorträgen, Seminaren und Workshops, zum kennen ler-nen und ausprobieren alternativer und spiritueller Heilmethoden und Techniken, die den Horizont erwei-tern, neue Dimensionen eröffnen, inspirieren oder einfach nur gut tun. Klangmeditationen, Tai-Chi und Yoga Workshops oder Vorträge über Ernährung, ökologische Stromerzeu-gung und vieles mehr. Zum 5-jäh-rigen Jubiläum werden viele sehr interessante Gäste erwartet.Zuletzt muss die besondere Örtlich-keit der Spiritual Healing erwähnt werden: auf sanften Hügeln direkt am Ufer eines wunderschönen Badesees gelegen, lässt sie sich am besten so beschreiben: Einfach traumhaft!

Dass beides ganz wunderbar zusammen funktioniert, beweist einmal mehr das Paradise Festival: Dessen buntes Treiben ent-faltet sich in einem alten Steinbruch vor der Kulisse einer Burgruine, umgeben von sattgrünen Hügeln.Allein die Veranstaltungsörtlichkeit ist also mit Recht als spektakulär zu bezeichnen.
