PLEASE BE ADVISED: Garbage and organics are collected on the same

day.

Recycling is collected on alternating weeks. The cycle begins with garbage/organics

collection on May 19th.

Organics can be placed in compostable or paper

bags. NO PLASTIC BAGS!

Purchasing Compost

CJSMA sells Grade A compost year round. Compost can be purchased by the

bag for $2.50 or in bulk for $40.00 per metric tonne (HST Included). We

recommend calling 667-5141 to ensure availability!

No Plastic Please

Staff receive calls from residents asking if they can use plastic bags to store

organic material. Plastic bags are not permitted, however compostable and paper

bags are great alternatives. These bags break down quickly and leave little to no

residue. When purchasing compostable bags make sure the package has

“compostable” stamped on it. There are bags on the market labeled

biodegradable however these bags do not break down quickly and do not work

well in our facility.
