When I am gone, release me. Let me go.

I have so many things to see and do.

You mustn't tie yourself to me with too many tears,

But be thankful we had so many good years.

I gave you my love, and you can only guess

How much you've given me in happiness.

I thank you for the love that you have shown,

But now it is time I traveled on alone.

So grieve for me a while, if grieve you must,

Then let your grief be comforted by trust

That it is only for a while that we must part.

So treasure the memories within your heart.

I won't be far away, for life goes on.

And if you need me, call and I will come.

Though you can't see or touch me, I will be near.

And if you listen with your heart, you'll hear

All my love around you soft and clear.

And then, when you come this way alone,

I'll greet you with a smile and a "Welcome Home."

We sincerely thank you and appreciate your prayers and expressions of love

and acts of kindness during the passing of our loved one. Special thanks are

extended to McLeod Hospital, McLeod Hospice and the dedicated staff of

Florence Rehabilitation and Nursing Center.

3 Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion

and the God of all comfort, 4 who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can

comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God.

II Corinthians 1:3-4

John Williams, affectionately known as “Baby John”, transitioned into

eternal rest on March 29, 2017. He was born October 24, 1930 to the late

Charlie and Annie Mae Williams. Welcome to welcome him are those

who preceded him in death: his wife, Edith Williams; sister, Emma Rich;

and brother, Charlie “Bubba” Williams.

John attended public school in Florence, South Carolina. He retired from

Palmetto Tire Service. He worked at the Florence Steam Laundry and in

yard maintenance —his special hobby. He also worked with the late

“”Moe the Rooster” and was known as “Tighten Up John”.

He was a dedicated member of Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church. He was

baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. He served as an usher,

serving as the Usher Board for many years until his health declined. He

received many certificates and awards for his outstanding service and

faithfulness in the church. John was a quiet, reserved man and was a

hard worker who always provided for his family.

He leaves to cherish his memories: his daughter, Sheryl (Gregg) Barnes

of Columbia, South Carolina; sister, Ellen Scott of Philadelphia,

Pennsylvania; brother-in-law, Earl (Olita) Rose of Ashburn, Virginia;

sister-in-law, Margaret Ann (Mark) Lee of Effingham, South Carolina; a

special care attendant and nice, Annie Mae Bailey; a special

granddaughter, Sarah Wiley of Florence, South Carolina; special brother

and deacon, Deacon Wayne (Mary) Brockington of Florence, South

Carolina; aunts, Amelia McCrae of Boynton, Florida and Chessie Fulwood

of Washington, DC; special daughters: Vanessa Sumter and Mary Ashley

of Columbia, South Carolina, Jeanette G. Polk and Renee Wiley of

Florence, South Carolina; specials sons, Willie Morgan of Columbia,

South Carolina and Deacon Danny Wiley of Florence South Carolina; and

a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
