Interna-tional Exhibition of collect-ible Teddy bears Hello TeddyAs you all know, most bears hibernate in winter, but this behaviour is characteristic of not all of the “clubfoots”: among them there are those for whom December is the busiest month of the year, because this month an in-ternational exhibition Teddy bears Hello Teddy exhibition takes place, and any self-re-specting Teddy Bear is re-quired to attend.

The Hello Teddy Bear ex-hibition traditionally cele-brates the New Year. The New Year can’t exist without miracles, so the organizers have prepared a miracle for each of the guests. For the first time, every visitor of the exhibition will receive a New Year souvenir made by an artist. Each entrance tick-et will indicate a number of the stand, where New Year’s gifts prepared for the ticket holders will be waiting for them.

Christmas magic will not end there. For the first time, the exhibition will allow its visitors to communicate with a well-known collector, who will be able to evaluate bears from their childhood and patch them up for free. Assessing bears of the So-viet era, the experts will not only evaluate them in mone-tary terms, but also will de-termine their approximate age and will tell a history of their birth.

A number of special exhibi-tions are going to take place, including Steiff teddy bear purchased in Russia in 1908 at “Muir and Mereliz”; Bear mascots issued during the First World War; American cartoonist Berryman (author of the famous cartoon of President Roosevelt and the bear cub), with an original caricature of the late 20’s.

Bear New Year will be held in one place, but will cover the entire planet – the geog-raphy of the exhibition is not less impressive than the va-riety of images of the “clum-sy” - with such countries as Japan, Germany, Britain, Italy and other countries, in total more than twenty, pre-sented. It’s also remarkable that the scope of the Rus-sian participants is huge: the participants come from more than 40 cities of Rus-sia including Murmansk, An-garsk,.

The exhibition will feature classical Bears strictly hand-made tailored so that all

five Sew pieces to rotate around the body and its axis. You will see a totally unex-pected and unusual bears, for example, Steampunk or robot-Teddy gathered from computer circuits, micro-chips, light bulbs, Teddy bears corduroy and velvet, artificially aged and stylized toys of the early twentieth century. It is noteworthy that authors work on every detail of the Teddy, observing his daily routine: here at Teddy appear with a pocket watch on a chain, a pince-nez of the last century, a coat with long tails and an umbrel-la-cane.

We would like to describe each toy of the exhibition, but it presents more than 50,000 artefacts, including the world-famous brands Steiff and Hermann, pre-sented in Russian exclusive-ly at the exhibition.

And, as always, on HelloTed-dy: master classes for chil-dren and adults, a separate children’s area and a lot of positive emotions!

Come to the exhibition Ted-dy bears with all the family!

Theodore Roosevelt – the hunt-er and the President(Last Days)

A president, hunter, conser-vationist... The new exhibition “The-odore Roosevelt – a hunt-er and a president” will tell you about one of the most interesting and significant personalities in the history. He was more than a presi-dent; Theodore Roosevelt was also a great hunter and a conservationist. More than 100 exhibits from the Muse-um’s collection will tell you the secret how to create a history of your country, and how important it is the love to the nature.

The famous Mount Rush-more features the stone por-trait of Theodore Roosevelt, the 26th president of the United States. The sculptor depicting in stone George Washington, Thomas Jef-ferson, Abraham Lincoln, along the hero of the exhibi-tion serves as a reminder for American citizens and oth-er people of the high ideals that each politician brought to their country. What kind of personal qualities one needs to possess to remain in the country’s history?

Theodore Roosevelt’s life proves that you don’t have to be born great to become one. At the exhibition you will be able to trace a rapid career rise of the youngest presi-dent of the USA and the first American who won The No-bel Peace Prize. You will also find out some little-known facts about his life.

Even contemporaries of the president had no idea that Roosevelt was often sick as a child, suffering from asth-ma, but his strong character and will power helped him to overcome the disease and turn into a powerful and cou-rageous man responsible for his country’s fate. Another interesting fact is that up to the end of his life Theodore Roosevelt had a bullet in his chest. It happened during the electoral campaign in 1912. Despite the pain, he still talked to voters and his speech lasted 90 minutes.

The sudden death of his loved ones in 1884 was a great disaster for a young politician. After the tragic events the source of healing for him was the time spent on a ranch in North Dakota where Theodore Roosevelt was absorbed in his hobby – hunting. Now this is a part of The National Park. At the ex-hibition the visitors will see the fauna from the places in Africa, North and South America where Roosevelt hunted and participated in expeditions, and also

20 Moscow Digest www.intermarkrelocation.ru

Page 21: Moscow Digest. December 6-7

see other ethnographic ob-jects from exotic countries.

Thanks to Roosevelt’s ex-pedition to Africa and South America, collections of the largest natural science mu-seums in the USA were re-plenished with most valua-ble scientific exhibits. During the12-month long Roosevelt’s African expe-dition, he covered almost 1,000 miles and delivered to the American Museums more than three thousands of different items. You will see rare photos of the pres-ident with the trophies, a wonderful collection of but-terflies from Africa and a not less beautiful collection of exotic birds from the funds of The State Darwin Muse-um.

The second expedition to the Amazon forests wasn’t very successful starting with the Roosevelt’s severe inju-ry. However, now the danger-ous river which used to be called “The River of Doubt” now has the name of the president - Rio Teodoro. At the exhibition you will be able to feel the spirit of danger meeting face to face the wild inhabitants of Bra-zil, with piranhas, snakes and wild cats among others; enjoy seeing colourful birds and many unusual inhabit-ants of the jungle.

Theodore Roosevelt was actually the first to take sig-nificant steps in protecting the nature of America. For example, he initiated the Congress approval of five National Parks and fifty pro-tected natural areas for wild-life in America. Very few pol-iticians have such important achievements.

A true verging-on-shock de-light is caused by the unique visual similarity between the members of the trib-ute-band with the cult rock-ers, especially with the front man Freddie Mercury.

Peter Freestone, Freddie’s personal assistant, was amazed to see the band on stage, and the tour manag-er of Queen expressed his opinion with the following words: “Incredibly, they just like the real one!”. It’s kind of says it all, isn’t it?

The British Council stressed the uniqueness of the team, and the member of the

original band Brian May called the group a “world cultural heritage”.

“The King is dead! Long live the king! “ is the first thing that comes to mind at the sight of a living and vibrant Freddie Mercury hypnotis-ing listeners with the depths of his voice and performing such hits as “Who wants to live forever”, “We are the champions” and “Bohemian rhapsody”.

That’s really true: there are no miracles – miracles are made by people! The real miracle comes to life on stage, without any IT-tricks, optical illusions and holograms, supported by the natural phenomenal similarity of the singer and his tone of voice, brilliant acting performance of Fred-die’s on-stage manners and furious energy. It’s as excit-ing as it was years ago, at the concert of the legendary rockers!

Thanks to this fantastic cov-er band, you can attend a concert of the “classical composition” by Queen, and feel what seemed would never be possible.

Tribute team travelled with concerts all over the world, and all the musicians took rave halls. The band’s lat-est performance in Russia was at the international fes-tival Kubana, which proved a resounding success: the audience in unison sang the songs of Queen and

applauded the musicians, who have brought back to life the legendary show.

House music audience can expect not just a concert, packed with amazing ener-gy and nostalgia, but dive into the atmosphere of the time when the scene was dominated by the legendary Queen.

Do not miss the single per-formance by the team in Moscow, whose program consists entirely of the pub-lic’s favourite hits!
