Greetings from your Governor

Well, the New Year is here. Good luck with those resolutions. Mine is to try to get this lodge in tip top shape for the Supreme Governor’s visit. We have scheduled a Lodge clean-up for January 8th from 9AM to 5PM. Many of you have offered help. This is one time your lodge could use your help. Any help you can provide. One hour, ten hours… your call. Please find the time to help.

On Thursday, January 20, 2011, The Loyal Order of Moose Supreme Governor, George (GW) W. McCullough III, will be visiting our lodge. We are planning a special enrollment and Steamboat Round Roast Beef dinner for his visit. For those that attend the enrollment, dinner will be provided. Please sign- up for the meal before January 16th so we can get an idea of how much food to order. The bartender will have the sign-up sheet. We will have a door prize drawing for $100 in Moose Bucks. You must be present to win. The December and January enrollments have been postponed until this special enrollment. For those new members who have signed up in the last six months and have not participated in the enrollment ceremony yet, please plan on doing so at this special enrollment. Please give me a call at 933-4292 to let me know you are coming. We will also have a special drawing for $25 in Moose Bucks for one of the new members participating in the enrollment ceremony. Moose bucks are just like cash in our social quarters for drinks and food.

Once again, I would like to thank the bingo volunteers and players for their continued support. I also want to thank the volunteers that cook and members that eat with us on Sunday mornings and Wednesday and Friday nights. If you would like to get involved, there are signup sheets on the LOOM bulletin board.

Thank you for your continued support to the Lodge. Thanks for all you do, even if it is only to renew your dues each year. That renewal provides the dollars needed to operate Mooseheart and Moosehaven. Our kids and seniors love you for it.

Happy New Year!!!

Fraternally,

Wayne BryanGovernor

How can I get my Moose Prints faster? And in FULL COLOR?

That’s easy! We can email you a copy of your Moose Prints as soon as it’s completed, and you’ll receive it about a week faster than your friends who receive their paper copy in the mail. The added bonus is that you are saving your Lodge and Chapter money in paper and mailing costs. The more money we make the more we can help our charities! And you might just save a few trees in the process. Just send your email address and the name your newsletter is currently mailed to, to [email protected], and ask to be added to the email list for Moose Prints!

TALLAHASSEE MOOSE LODGE #1075 -MOOSE LEGION COMMITTEE

The year 2010 is almost over, and we think it has been a good year. We have had 39 different members attend our meetings with the highest number of attendees being 33 at our first meeting.

Our next meeting will be at 6:30 PM on January 3, 2011. Please bring a covered dish, and we will furnish the meat. We are sure everyone will enjoy the meal. Let’s talk to some of our Moose legion members, and see if we can increase our attendance in 2011.

We had our Higher Degree meeting at the Quincy Lodge on Saturday December 11, 2010. At the meeting we had a mini-enrollment with one new Moose Legion enrollee attending. If you are in the second degree of LOOM or the WOTM, you are eligible to join the NW Florida Higher Degree. The cost is $10 per year, and you will get a free meal at our December meeting – win, win, win for everyone.

The next Moose Legion Celebration will be at the Panama City Lodge on January 14th & 15th. Come and enjoy the festivities.

We will sponsor the Valentine’s Day Sweetheart Dance again this year. The date has been set for Saturday February 12, 2011. The meal will begin at 6:30 PM and consist of stuffed pork chops, wild rice, mixed vegetables, salad, and red velvet cake with coffee, tea and water. The dance will follow the meal with the band Third Time Around. The cost will be $12.00 per person, and tickets will go on sale early in January. Please join us for a good time.

If you get this before Christmas, we wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. If later, we hope you had a Merry Christmas

and a Happy New Year.

Happy New Year Co-Workers!

With the end of 2010, the end of the chapter year is quickly approaching too and the Board of Officers discussed getting a head start working on our chapter membership. We will address this at our chapter business meetings, beginning with the one we held on December 27th, 2010. Please try to attend and help us get our membership drive going.

The Family Involvement committee’s “Ringing in the Season” Christmas Party was a very pleasant success. Thanks go out to Norma and her Crew! A special thanks to all members that attended and helped start the season of giving with generous hearts.

The new year starts off another busy month, starting with the Supreme Governor’s visit, the College of Regents 50’s Dance and last but hardly least is the Chili Cook Off! Look for details on dates and time of these events in this newsletter.

Chapter Meetings are the 2nd and 4th Monday of the month. New member welcome orientation is at 6:30 pm. Bring a covered dish, enjoy the camaraderie and help our chapter prosper.

With Faith, Hope and Charity,Carol L. Davis
