APD IN THE COMMUNITYMay was #MotorcycleAwarenessMonth! And as such, Officer Dempsey

from our Motorcycle Enforcement Team took the time to record some educational videos for our community.

Those videos can be viewed on our YouTube Channel at: https://www.youtube.com/TheAuroraPolice. Check out the four videos that were published and you might even learn something you didn’t know before!

On May 4, we had officers from all three PAR Units and members of our Community Relations Section join together at Lifeline Christian Mission for a food packing event that helps package food to be sent around the globe. Working collectively, officers packaged 3,240 meals, just during the morning session, that would be later shipped out to families in need. If you would like to help, visit lifeline.org to learn more information.

On May 10, officers from our District 1 PAR Unit gathered with community members over a cup o’ joe for a “Coffee with a Cop” event. The event was hosted by Caribou Coffee and is part of an ongoing partnership with PAR Officers and their respective communities. It gives our residents the opportunity to meet their local PAR Officer and make connections. Community members can use these connections to stay active in their area’s and learn about problems that could be affecting your neighborhood.
