mmicc 2012 - newsletter day 3

Why sleep when there is so much to do? Between early mornings, and long nights out, we like to pack as much awesome into every single day so that you guys have the best time here in Montreal. Because believe it or not, we’ll one day have to part ways!! But for now, the week is upon us! As the moment until the case crack nears, it’s easy to see teams be- ginning to get their proverbial “game- faces” on. Today was truly another fantastic day. I don’t know who pleased the sun gods, but we’ve been blessed by some of the most amazing weather Montreal has seen in many, many months. Waking up early was a chore for many of us who enjoyed a night out at McLean’s, but (with no thanks to Baba Thakur) got out and onto the road on time. And what a blast it was! I think that everyone had low hopes for snow- tubing as we drove through green hill after green hill, but Morin Heights thankfully had 4 runs open that we were able to slide down. Highlights for us included epic snowball fights while waiting in line (Wali Zia, you will get what’s coming for you eventu- ally!) as well as watching our advi- sors Edwin, Richard, and Vesna hav- ing a blast snow tubing and convers- ing over timbits. Navid was also do- ing some experiential learning, riding down the hill while standing on the tube. And a final thanks to Yetty and Baba for throwing Ben off of the tube, nearly killing one of our great VP Comm. A great lunch followed where inter- national students learned about Que- bec cuisine (Step 1: Put syrup on eve- rything. Step 2: See step 1). Copenha- gen also had a great time taking all types of shots (pickle, maple syrup, etc.) while they waited for their food. And if you didn’t have enough sugar during the meal, maple taffy after- wards really did the trick at ensuring a diabetic shock. Hopefully everyone got some good food in them and had an even better rest, because 24 hours is a long time! We here at the Executive Committee want to wish every team a heart-felt good luck! No regrets and have fun!! 0700 - 0830 BREAKFAST- MARRIOTT RESIDENCE INN - MEZZANINE LEVEL 0900 + REGULATED CASE PERIOD -MARRIOTT RESIDENCE INN 1200 - 1400 DELEGATES LUNCH 1830 DINNER- MARRIOTT RESIDENCE INN DAY FOUR SCHEDULE

Why sleep when there is so much to

do? Between early mornings, and

long nights out, we like to pack as

much awesome into every single day

so that you guys have the best time

here in Montreal. Because believe it

or not, we’ll one day have to part

ways!! But for now, the week is upon

us! As the moment until the case

crack nears, it’s easy to see teams be-

ginning to get their proverbial “game-

faces” on.

Today was truly another fantastic

day. I don’t know who pleased the

sun gods, but we’ve been blessed by

some of the most amazing weather

Montreal has seen in many, many

months. Waking up early was a chore

for many of us who enjoyed a night

out at McLean’s, but (with no thanks

to Baba Thakur) got out and onto the

road on time.

And what a blast it was! I think that

everyone had low hopes for snow-

tubing as we drove through green hill

after green hill, but Morin Heights

thankfully had 4 runs open that we

were able to slide down. Highlights

for us included epic snowball fights

while waiting in line (Wali Zia, you

will get what’s coming for you eventu-

ally!) as well as watching our advi-

sors Edwin, Richard, and Vesna hav-

ing a blast snow tubing and convers-

ing over timbits. Navid was also do-

ing some experiential learning, riding

down the hill while standing on the

tube. And a final thanks to Yetty and

Baba for throwing Ben off of the tube,

nearly killing one of our great VP

Comm.

A great lunch followed where inter-

national students learned about Que-

bec cuisine (Step 1: Put syrup on eve-

rything. Step 2: See step 1). Copenha-

gen also had a great time taking all

types of shots (pickle, maple syrup,

etc.) while they waited for their food.

And if you didn’t have enough sugar

during the meal, maple taffy after-

wards really did the trick at ensuring

a diabetic shock.

Hopefully everyone got some good

food in them and had an even better

rest, because 24 hours is a long time!

We here at the Executive Committee

want to wish every team a heart-felt

good luck! No regrets and have fun!!
