FeaturesThe MM4 offers four switching and alternatively two servooutputs. They can be controlled either via a servo channel ofthe receiver or via a multi channel.
Switching outputsThree of the four switching outputs are memory switches. Oneoutput can be a switch OR pushbutton (set by position of thejumper). The pushbutton can be used for example to trigger aflasher or a horn.
The four outputs are suitable for light bulbs as well as for relaysand signals. If you use LEDs, you need to use series resistors. All four outputs switch to ground respectively battery minus. Therefore connect the light bulbs between one output and thescrew terminal marked “+”. Please ensure the correct polarity,if you use LEDs.
If you use light bulbs ensure youhave the right operating voltage:7.2 V battery = 6 V light bulbs,12 V battery = 12 V light bulbs.
Tip: Instead of one 12 V light bulbyou can use two 6 V light bulbs, connected in series.
15
Overview MM4
Servo outputsThe servo outputs offer two special functions:
Servo function 1 normally slowly moves a servo from the left tothe right and back, as long as you hold or press theswitch/pushbutton. Therefore it can be used to open doors, move ramps and a dinghy or a fire monitor.
If the MM4 is controlled by a multi channel the servo funtion1 is a universal servo output. See page 18 - multi channel

16
Servo function 2 moves the servo continuously within secondsfrom left to right. This function can be used to operate awindscreen wiper.
Connecting the receiverUse the supplied three-pole cable to connect the MM4 to thereceiver. You need a free channel of one joystick or a channelwith a switch or pushbutton with three positions or amultiswitch/multiprop or nautic channel with robbe/graupnerstandard.
If the assignment of the channels is unknown, use a servo tofind the right channel.
Please note: With your radio set trim to middle (for the chosenchannel), set all servos to 100% and switch off all specialoptions/functions. The MM4 and the connected servos aresupplied through the receiver.
You don’t have to adjust the MM4 itself. Only if you use old orvery basic receivers, you may have to change the trim. Formultiplex radios: Please set the signal format of the channel touniversal (UNI).
Connecting the batteryLEDs, light bulbs or relays are supplied separately through theblack (minus) and red (plus) battery cable. Usually they areconnected to the main battery, but you can also use a separatebattery.
17
Control the MM4 via normal servo channelL1 - This output switches on/off, as long as you hold thestick/switch/button in its end position (full deflection) longerthan two seconds. At the same time the servo at output 1 moves.
S2 - This output switches on/off, if you shortly move thestick/switch/button in its end position (full deflection). It alsoturns the wiper function at servo 2 on and off.
S3 - Output three can be used as a switch or a pushbutton. Asa switch (jumper in position A - Memory) a short touch switcheson/off. As a pushbutton (jumper position B - Pulse) the outputis only active, as long as you press/hold it.
Position Memory (left) Position Pulse (right)S3 as switch S3 as pushbutton
L4 - This output switches on/off, if you hold thestick/switch/button in its end position (full deflection) longerthan two seconds.
Tip: If you connect the outputs S3 and L4 while the jumper isin position Pulse, you can press the button shortly as well as
switch it on permanently. This combination is useful for flasherand high beam with the same light bulb/LED.
Control the MM4 via multi channelThe Servonaut Multi Bus is a further development of knownmultiprop/multiswitch and nautic systems. One channel of thereceiver transmits up to 16 switching functions or 8 servosignals. An extra decoder in the model is not necessary withthe Multi Bus - Servonaut modules with Multi Bus Logo alreadyhave an internal decoder. More than one module can beconnected to the bus channel. The Multi Bus system iscompatible to rc radios that are upgraded withmultiswitch/multiprop or nautic modules with Robbe or Graup-ner standard or radios that can trigger the same signals e.g. theServonaut radio HS12.
The Multi Bus modules automatically detect if and to whattype of multi channel they are connected (after switchingon). Each Servonaut product group reacts to functions of themulti channel according to a set pattern. These patterns arechosen so the controls assignment for Robbe and Graupnerradios makes sense even if a few Multi Bus modules areconnected, see tables and drawings. With the Servonaut radioHS12 the assignment of controls is absolutely free.
The following table shows the assignment if the sound mod-ule SM7 is combined with the light set ML4 and the minimultiswitch MM4. Please note: For this interconnection youneed two Y-cables to connect all three modules with the multichannel of the receiver. With the Servonaut Zwo4 system andthe radio HS12 channels 7 and 8 support Multi Bus - youtherefore need an 9 or 12 channel receiver.
