MISSIONS CONFERENCE Saturday, February 20th at 7 pm

and Sunday, the 21st at 9:30 & 11:00

Guest Speaker: Ajay Pillai of

India National Inland Mission

Established in 1964, this multi-faceted, indigenous evangelism and church-planting ministry is located in New Delhi, India. The ministry includes a missionary training school, Grace Bible Col-lege with 681 fulltime students, and Bethesda Children’s Home providing care and education for over 1000 orphaned children. “Over 41 percent of the 25,200 former residents of the chil-dren’s home are in fulltime Christian ministry today.”

Haitian Earthquake Relief Fund

On Tuesday, January 12, an earthquake registering 7.0 on the Richter scale, with the epicenter located just south of the Haitian capital Port-au-Prince, was felt at 5:54pm local time. This pow-erful earthquake flattened the president's palace, the Parliament building, the Roman Catholic cathedral, hospitals, schools, the main prison and whole neighborhoods. Officials fear tens of thousands - perhaps more than 100,000 - may have perished. But there is no firm count. The International Red Cross said a third of Haiti's 9 million people may need emergency aid and that it would take a day or two for a clear picture of the damage to emerge. The United States government is rushing emergency assistance to Haiti. My Rotary club is sending Shelter Boxes to Haiti. These efforts are for the immediate relief efforts. But the long-term need for our Haitian brothers and sisters in Christ has yet to be determined. Should you desire to give to the Haitian Earthquake Relief Fund, You can do that through Sequim Bible Church just note in the memo Haitian Earthquake Relief and we will send in one check from all who contribute. We will be sending our gifts to the International Fundamental Churches of America which we have an affiliation with. They have missionary contacts in country. If you wish to give directly make your checks out to IFCA International and enclose a note with the check designating your gift to this fund. Then mail your check and enclosed designation note to IFCA International Haitian Relief Fund, P.O. Box 810,Grandville, MI 49468.

Women’s Ministry A Special Thanks from The Women’s Ministry Board Didn’t we all appreciate how beautiful the church looked over Christmas? In recent years Camille and Wayne Anderson have done all the lovely decorating with an occasional helper.

They resigned about a year ago and justifiably so when you realize all they do for the church. Can you imagine the panic when the Women’s Ministry Board was unable to fill this position promptly and Christmas was coming? The WMB decided that a team approach was the best plan and God‘s mercy ensued!

Camille and Wayne had left our beautiful storage area neatly organized with Christmas stuff in stor-age totes (boxes). The Mangiameli muscle men car-ried the totes to the main floor where “thirteen” fabulous volunteer team players were assembled and ready. A decorative blitz took place in a matter of two and a half hours. Then following Christmas ten good volunteer fairies came to undress the church of it’s Christmas decor. A HUGE THANKS to those good, cheerful, creative team players.

Not wanting to have this panicky feeling again, we’d really like to see a team of 3 to 5 persons with a team leader to plan and organize the seasonal deco-rating changes. Of course, we hope that the helper fairies will pitch in again to support the team. These team planners might be folks that have creative juices, waiting for an outlet and enjoy working as a team. Fortunately, no one has to spend money as we have a lovely varied supply of pretties to play with and a budget that will allow for expanding our resources.

If this challenge smiles at you (either as a team member or a helper fairy), please let the secretaries in the church office know and we’ll all do a happy dance!!

Your Women’s Ministry Board

Here’s a reach back ladies…

The Basic Rules for Clotheslines:

1. You had to wash the clothesline before hanging any clothes —wipe the entire length of each line with a damp cloth.

2. You had to hang the clothes in a certain order, always hang ‘whites’ with ‘whites’, and hang them first.

3. You never hung a shirt by the shoulders—always by the tail! What would the neighbors think?

4. Wash day was on Monday! —never hang clothes on the weekend or on Sunday, for heaven’s sake!

5. Hang the sheets and towels on the outside lines so you could hide your ‘unmentionables’ in the middle!

6. It didn’t matter if it was subzero weather— clothes would ‘freeze-dry’

7. Always gather the clothes pins when taking down dry clothes! Pins left on the lines were “tacky’!

8. If you were efficient, you would line the clothes up so that each item did not need two clothes-pins, but shared one of the clothespins with the next washed item.

9. Clothes off the line before dinner time, neatly folded in the clothes basket, and ready to be ironed.

10. IRONED?! Well, that’s a whole other subject!

The Women’s Ministry Board Members Membership on the board is for a three year term. Those rotating off the board are: Wendy Boyd, Dorothy Henderson, Mardel Mearig and Carlene Moberg. Their commitment to the Women’s Ministry benefitted our fellowship and we appreciate their service. New members are noted by a * in this list of our current board.

Speaker: Ajay Pillai Established in 1964, this multi-faceted, indigenous evangelism and church–planting ministry is located in New Delhi, India. The Mission was formed by Dr. Paul Pillai, a former Orthodox Hindu. Paul and Annie were married in 1963. They have five married children who have all entered into fulltime Christian service and have blessed Paul and Annie with twelve grandchildren thus far. The ministry’s missionary training school, Grace Bible College, currently has 681 fulltime students from 47 South Asian people groups. Missionaries commis-sioned from this Center are planting churches throughout India and South Asia and in many of the neighboring Muslim countries. Since 1964, INIM has established over 15,000 churches in India and South Asia. The orphanage, Bethesda Children’s Home, established in 1976, cares for and educates over 1000 orphaned and destitute children. Over 41 per-cent of the 25,200 former residents of the Children’s home are in fulltime Christian ministry today. The Mission’s Feeding Center currently provides food for over 1000 people weekly. They also have recently established a Drug Rehabilitation Center. The Mission and its various ministries endure regular persecution from Islamic and Hindu extremists groups.

Dr. Ajay Pillai, is a US/International Director for India National Inland Mission. Ajay shares the vision and work of the ministry with churches throughout the US. He is an alumni of Liberty University. Ajay also shares responsibility for their native church-planting and field evangelism efforts which require him to spend significant time in India through out the year. Ajay and his wife Heather, have three boys, Joel (6), Joshua (3) and Josiah (1). Plan to come, and hear what Ajay Pillai has to share with us.

Olympic Peninsula Men’s Fellowship

They hosted approximately 400 men on January 22-23 at Lighthouse Christian Center. The guest speaker, Pastor Stu Weber, spoke on being a spirit warrior. Pastor We-ber is a U.S. Army veteran and was awarded three bronze stars as a Green Beret in Vietnam. His message, “Becoming Men of Long Inten-tional Purpose & Influence”, challenged men to be a light and influence in the community for Christ.

Sequim Bible Church had 11 men participate in this uplifting event. Watch the men’s ministry board for further events.

AWANA UPDATEAWANA UPDATEAWANA UPDATEAWANA UPDATE Reaching Boys & Girls with the Gospel of Christ

and training them to serve Him.

Time files when you are having fun! Here we are half way through the Awana year and it seems like we just started. The energy level is high and the clubbers are memorizing lots of Scripture. PTL! The January attendance for our three clubs averaged about 90 clubbers per week. As per usual, this is down slightly from our pre-Christmas break attendance numbers.

Throughout January eight of our T&T clubbers practiced for a Bible quizzing competition. The competition will be held in Port Orchard on February 6th. They will be com-peting against numerous other AWANA clubs from the Kitsap and Olympic Peninsula.

Each month we recog-nize an outstanding clubber from each level. Selection is based on number of verses memorized, at-tendance, attitude, etc. Pictured are our De-cember T&T Clubbers of the Month:.Mekinzie Ketchum, Emily Grubb, Caleb Lauritzen

Please pray for AWANA. Pray for effective out-reach. Pray for our leaders and clubbers. Praise God for how He continues to bless this ministry.
