Your prayers carried Wayne, the doctors, our family and all involved in his surgery and made it a success. What a blessing! Thank you for the outpouring of cards, another blessing to our family. We praise God that HE has given doctors knowledge to be able to go into the left chamber and replace the mitral valve. It’s such a detailed surgery. We are so uniquely made by HIS hand. The detail in the heart and

Attention SBC Ladies:

If you can sew a straight stitch, we would love to have you join the Navajo Quilting GroupNavajo Quilting GroupNavajo Quilting GroupNavajo Quilting Group. We meet at the church on the 2nd and 4th Wednesdays from 10 - noon. We are breaking during November & December and will begin again on January 9th. This is our way of supporting the Flagstaff Navajo Mission.

Our busy lives sometimes interfere with the twice a month schedule, so the more of us the better. If you are interested, please signup or give Sharon a call with questions you might have. There are three options by which you can participate: 1) Helping to baste together the top, batting and back, 2) Tying the quilts (both 1 & 2 done at the church), or 3) Piecing together a top at home. 1. Doug and Lonna Munson’s daughter SHEREESHEREESHEREESHEREE just learned the cancer is back. She had a biopsy and is now wait-ing for the results. Please pray for God’s healing hand in this testing and the treatment.

2. Estelle Stott’s brother ROBERT’SROBERT’SROBERT’SROBERT’S bone marrow biopsy was positive, so the leukemia is back. He was admitted to the hospital last week for more chemo. Please pray for healing and no extreme side effects.

3. BOB,BOB,BOB,BOB, a neighbor to Steve and Kathy Smith in Everett, has cancer and has learned that it is now stage four. He is starting a new medication. Pray for God’s healing through the specialists he is seeing and for strength for Bob and his wife.

would come to know the Lord. 6. Orville Graham’s granddaughter’s husband DARINDARINDARINDARIN has a malignant tumor on his optic nerve and is now under- going radiation treatment. Pray this will work and for no harsh side effects. His business depends on his eye-

“Are God's consolations not enough for you, words spoken gently to you?” Job 15:11

A brown forty-something woman trembled in front of me after I preached in Pakistan. “I had a daughter fourteen years ago, but a woman who cannot make a boy is useless.” She wanted prayer for fertility, specifically for a baby boy. The poor soul had convinced

herself that some great curse was on her. Her body convulsed and tears ran from under her shawl as she leaned forward for healing.

As the Spirit broke in on the moment, I found myself in the difficult position of delivering the news that God’s love needed to be enough. This dear sister had to let go of her obsession for a boy and be fulfilled that she had Jesus. I passed a note that had the verse from Job 15:11 (above) written in Urdu. It was a hard message, but necessary, because the condition of the heart is more important than the fruit of the womb.

The Lord began to work on my own heart. “James, you have areas where you are unsatisfied with what life has dealt you. I have one question. Is My love enough to make you let go of lesser blessings?”

That question cut. By my thoughts and actions I had said to the lover of my soul that I wanted, and deserved, more than Him alone. The consolation of Christ was not enough for me. How wrong to hold that unspoken conclusion in light of all He has done for me. I needed to listen to my own preaching, because the condition of the heart is more important than the fruit of the world.

Prayer: “Lord, I have been a fool with Your love. It is enough. “
