North Miami Beach Leisure Services provides, promotes, creates, and responds with a broad range of

enjoyable recreational, cultural and educational opportunities that are safe,

accessible, caring, efficient, attractive and improves the North Miami Beach

residents quality of life.

The Marjorie & William McDonald Center

hosts a variety of:

• Classes and Activities– Ceramics, Bridge, Jazzercise, Jewelry Making,

Israeli Folk Dance, Defensive Driving, etc.

• Senior Luncheons

• Meet and Mingles

• Field Trips

ADULT PROGRAMMING

The McDonald Center is a valuable community resource where residents can rent this facility for:– Weddings– Receptions– Showers– Parties– Seminars– Conferences


FOR INDIVIDUALS WITH DISABILITIES

• “Challenger” Social Program• Disability Sports Program

– Wheelchair Tennis– Tandem Biking (for the visually impaired)– Vita-Glide Classes

• Sports Gym– Magnum fitness center, game cycle & other exercise

equipment especially designed for individuals in wheel chairs.

AQUATICS PROGRAMMING

• Family Learn to Swim Classes– 3,000 children & adults per year are taught

to swim in our Aquatics Division.

• Exer-Swim• Aquatics Camp• CPR & First Aid Certifications• Swim Team• Water Safety Training

THE PERFORMING ARTSThe Julius Littman Performing Arts Theater is primarily a rental facility and hosts a variety of multi cultural and multi ethnic programs such as:

• Monthly Variety Shows• Ballets & Musicals• Concerts & Shows

RESOURCE CENTERS

The City’s Neighborhood Resource Centers:

• Hazel Crawford Neighborhood Resource Center(Washington Park Neighborhood)

• Uleta Neighborhood Resource Center

**Each resource center has a computer lab and offers assistance to residents in need of community services.


NMB LINE TRANSPORTATION SERVICE


NMB-LINE SHUTTLE SERVICE:•A FREE service that operates five days a week. •Go to the nearest "B-Line" bus stop and wait for the shuttle. •Travels to various locations in NMB.•Connects to Sunny Isles bus service.

NMB-LINE DOOR-TO-DOOR SERVICE:•For Registered North Miami Beach Residents only. •Comes to your home and takes individuals to medical appointments, grocery shopping, the NMB Library, NMB Post Office, the NMB Performing Arts Theater and other sites within the incorporated areas of North Miami Beach.

A FREE transportation service in the North Miami Beach Community that operates on weekdays, weekends and evenings with two ways to travel:

LIBRARY SERVICES

• The NMB Library provides:– FREE library cards which allows borrowing of

materials & use of computers. – Materials and information available in six (6) languages

and in a variety of formats for recreational reading, viewing and listening.

– General information, research assistance, and answers to questions.

– Computers with Internet access, 120+ professional research databases in the Florida electronic library available free of charge and Wi-Fi.

– Programs and activities for all ages.– Space and opportunities for people to meet and

gather for discussion.
