How does the House checkand improve bills?

2Committee stageThe Committee of the House scrutinises the bill and tables amendments to try and improve the bill.SPAG amendments undergo a House call. If division in House it undergoes a Division. Every other amendment undergoes a Division, if passed, it is added to the BillThird readingThe House has its final debate and amendments can still be submitted. There is a final division including all the amendments.If the bill had no amendments tabled then it skips the third reading.
After these stages, the bill is then sent to the House of Commons fortheir approval.
The House of Lords has a different makeup to the House of Commons. With this the House can often have a different view and adequate scrutinisation can occur.
