Convention of States

Did you know that we can place term limits on members of Congress and the Supreme Court... without their permission?

That's right. The Founders gave us a secret power right there in Article V of the U.S. Constitution.

And it's high time we used it.

MARCH SPEAKER Retired BRIGADIER GENERAL BLAINE D. HOLT

Brig. Gen. Holt is the Deputy United States Military Representa-tive to the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO). He sup-ports the Military Representative and the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff in executing the U.S. political-military mission at the North Atlantic Council

Currently President of Million Air with P&L authority over the world’s #1 private aviation service provider with 32 VIP ter-minals on 4 continents, Blaine tackles challenges no doubt of a different nature from his military career. Some things, however, remain unchanged, such as the need to foster in-novative and strategic thinking within his organization to prepare for the challenges of tomorrow. Turning around un-derperforming operations in record timing and securing Mil-lion Airís position at #1 in customer ratings has been par for the course during this phase of his leadership career.

Blaine holds a BA in Business Administration in Management Information Systems from University of Georgia, an M.Ed. in Education Technology from George Washington Uni-versity, and an M.S. in Strategic Studies from the Air War College. Having lived and/or worked in the U.S., Hong Kong, Belgium, Germany, and the Kyrgyz Republic, he speaks fluent Dutch and English, intermediate German, and basic Spanish, French, Mandarin, and Kyrgyz.

A note on the woman who played a major role in

getting President Donald Trump elected to office:

Kellyanne Conway

Kellyanne Elizabeth (Fitzpatrick) Conway was born in a poor neighborhood just outside of Camden, New Jersey to an Irish father that owned a trucking com-pany and an Italian mother who work at a local bank. Kellyanne was raise by her mother, grandmother and two aunts after her parents divorced when was three years old.

Being raised by hard working women taught Kellyanne what hard work is and later learned where it could get you in life. Kellyanne soon found a job of her own, for eight summers Kellyanne worked manual labor as a blueberry picker on a farm in Hammonton, New Jersey. She credits her fighter spirit and work ethics to that farm.

Kellyanne was also quite bright, she graduated from St. Joseph High School in 1985, and grad-uated magna cum laude from Trinity College in Washington, D.C., earning a degree in political sci-ence. She later earned a law degree with honors from George Washington University Law Center.

George Conway saw a picture of Kellyanne on the cover of a Washington society magazine and asked a mutual friend to set them up. They were married in 2001 Kellyanne was 37 years old. The Conway’s have four children, two where born when Kellyanne was in her forties.

Kellyanne met Trump in 2006, when she was living in one of his buildings. She even served on the condo board of the Trump World Tower in Manhattan. She was very surprised to find how in-volved Trump was; he would show up to meetings to hear residents concerns. Little did they know they would eventually work together to Make America Great Again. When ask how she felt about be-ing the first woman to “break the glass ceiling,” Kellyanne responded, “I want everybody to remem-ber, that it was Donald J. Trump who elevated a woman to the highest position in his campaign, much like he has done in the Trump Corporation for a number of decades– it is he who gave women respon-sibilities.”

Kellyanne Conway’s life boasts of what God can do when one woman is willing to work hard, serve her family, honor her country, and strive to make a difference.

a note from one of our members...

On Wed, Feb.15th, President Trump met with Benjamin Netanyahu, Prime Minister of

Israel. If you saw the press conference, the genuine mutual respect and concern

between these two leaders was so apparent. The prime minister’s demeanor and body

language was certainly more relaxed than the other times he had met with the previous

president. It was very heartwarming to hear the commitment to aid Israel and Israel’s

response to aid the United States. There has been such discord in this area of the world

and many lives have been lost and there is still much suffering in these lands, that any

type of dialogue and support is much encouraged. This has been a lifelong strife and I

pray some level of acceptance and peace can be reached by Israel and Palestine. God

knows that Iran poses the greatest threat to Israel but as the Prime Minister stated, the

threat is to the United States as well.

There is legislation now in the Texas house in regards to Houston being a “sanctuary

city”. The mayor of Houston and the Chief of police are supporters of Houston being a

“sanctuary city”. This is very disturbing to me for many reasons. The concern of our

community’s safety is at a great risk if this happens.

I heard Michael Berry on the radio the other day after the Houston Chronicle had a story

about Mayor Turner saying “Mi Casa Su Casa”. Michael Berry said that is not his

thought. He does not want several illegal aliens living in his house and adding to his

household cost. He is against this idea of spending tax payers’ money in this way. We

must be very aware of the laws that will affect us in a profound way.

I again encourage you all to access the TFRW website. There is so much information

and also our State and Federal Representatives and Senators websites.

May God continue to bless America and pray for the safety of our country and our

leaders.

SANCTUARY CITIES LEGISLATION

As you may have heard, several Texas cities have adopted or are planning to adopt “sanctuary city” policies to inten-

tionally hinder or even prohibit local law enforcement cooperation with U.S. Immigration and Customs and prohibit officers from inquiring about a person’s immigration status.

In the Texas House, I am working with my fellow Republicans to promote legislation to prevent local policies from

undercutting the enforcement of immigration law made at the federal and state level. We are working to address this

issue by:

Prohibiting municipalities, counties, special districts, local entity employees, and district attorneys from adopting

rules, orders, ordinances or policies that prohibit or discourage the enforcement of state and federal immigration

laws.

Requiring local entities to cooperate with federal Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) regarding criminal

illegal aliens.

Ensuring that law enforcement agencies must notify the magistrate or judge if the federal government has identi-

fied a person as an undocumented alien or if a federal detainer request has been issued.

As Republicans, we believe that it is our duty to ensure the safety of all Texans, and we are committed to prohibiting

sanctuary city policies that threaten our security. Local jurisdictions must enforce state and federal immigration laws

to protect our communities and uphold law and order. Last session we provided over $800 million in additional fund-ing to secure the border. We will continue to provide additional resources to protect Texans and pass legislation to

enforce immigration law.
