ATTENTION!! ATTENTION!! Time to get involved!! Time to get the most out of EWI!! How, you ask?? Join a committee. Become a mentor. Get mentored. These are three surefire ways to get involved and get the most out of your EWI membership, personally and professionally. Find out more about the ins and outs of EWI. Get excited to go to LCAM. Set a
lunch date with a professional contact. Get new business.
I will share a quick story....when I first joined EWI, I didn’t know what it was about. I was a replacement representative. I was told to fill out this form and attend monthly meeting. Everyone was very friendly, meetings were interesting and there always seemed to be something going on, I just didn’t know what. I still just "came to meetings". Luckily, I say with a smile, I was asked to be on a committee, and then asked to be on the board, and look at me now--PRESIDENT!!
I found out so much about EWI! I discovered the meaning behind LCAM, scholarship presentations, and what EWI is all about. It is so much more than just coming to a meeting, but you have to be willing to ask, accept, and repeat. As with any endeavor in life, the more you put in, the more you get out. Will you become involved? Will you participate on a committee? Will you help EWI continue to grow?
The holidays are over, the New Year has begun, the snow has melted.....will you please accept this call to action? Thank you,
Kristina Smith, First Tennessee Bank

”
My name is Darlene Horne. I am a Mary Kay sales director. I graduated
from UTC with a BA focusing on Fashion Merchandising. I am married with two
sons and one granddaughter, a Yorkie and two cats. I began my part- time Mary
Kay business in 1991 while still a Benefit Analyst at Provident Insurance
Co. I was actually trained by Mary Kay herself. I earned my first car in only
17 months and was able to replace my full-time income. To date, I train and
motivate 60 women in my unit in 8 different states. I have been on the
company’s National Court of Sales seven times, earning diamond rings and
car #6 in August, with the prestigious Pink Caddy soon to follow!
I am currently working on a professional portfolio. If you’d like to be included,
I would be pleased to feature your business in my business card album along
with your photo. Even if you love what you are currently using, I would love
the opportunity to get your opinion on my products compared to yours and to
feature you in my professional portfolio.
My appointments are scheduled with 1-6
women. I keep the number small to
provide personalized attention. All
makeovers are classroom-style with me
guiding you with techniques and
instruction. There are varieties of
appointment choices from skin care to color
application technique to spa parties. I also
love mother/daughter classes and
especially bridal parties!

March Meeting Door Prize Theme
Do you have the fever yet? Spring Fever is in the air. Not sure about you but I am looking forward to warmer days, picnics in the park, and beautiful flowers. I believe a good theme for March would be to focus on Spring: Flowers, Easter, Wine, and Picnics.
Please make a note to bring an item and money for the March table.
Current Fundraiser
We will be drawing for our No Dirty Dishes basket(s) in April but for this to be successful, we still need donations of restaurant gift cards or certificates, movie tickets, and money for this fundraiser. Hopefully you have each received your tickets to sell. If not, please contact me at [email protected] or call me at (423) 535-6307 and I will send them to you. If you need additional tickets, please let me know. Remember, the more cards and/or certificates we receive, the more baskets we can make and the more we can collect for our scholarship fund.
We will be continuing to offer the opportunity for you to promote your firm at each meeting by purchasing an ad to be included in the Powerpoint presentation shown throughout the meeting. If you commit to a full year of advertising (10 months), your firm will get one month free...that’s 10 months for the price of 9! You can find the advertising form here on the website.
Sgt-at-Arms: Nena Powell, Lattimore, Black, Morgan & Cain, PC Our February Chapter meeting was canceled due to inclement weather. However, if you registered and paid online for February, you can apply that payment to your March meeting registration instead. Just select the option for a Prepaid Meal on the payment screen.
