Welcome to the 4th issue of Meade Magazine. For this issue we’re celebrating our 1st year anniversary, so we thought we would look into the theme of Futurism, showcasing some new exciting products, styles and designs. This isn’t a typical vision of futurism, we aren’t looking 10 years into the future; we’re looking at how designers are making clothes and products for the future - including new and interesting views on this. We’ve decided to mix womenswear and menswear for this issue, particularly as an increasing number of designers are looking at how clothing is becoming more unisex. We think this is going to be the intrigue of the future and every designer will make a line that can be used by a man and a woman. We’ve also picked out favourite looks from London’s Fashion Week AW15, selecting the designers we feel are thinking about the future of fashion. Choosing editorials was an interesting task indeed but, working with some amazing freelance photographers, we’ve managed to get their vision of ‘futurism’. We have collated some of the most outlandish photographs, as well as more of a realistic look at how fashion is shaping and changing the future. Not only that but we’ve written articles on practices that are implementing new techniques and experiences for their customers, as technology grows and enforces the idea of change.

The front cover shot by Marc Hayden, represents how fashion is becoming gender neutral - Models: Nathan Brew-er (AMCK Models) and Emilie Lynch Williams, Make-up by Anna Lingis. This idea of gender neutral fashion is now being rolled out to superstores such as Selfridges.

Big thank you to our continued readers, we’re glad you’re continuing to read and support Meade Magazine - here’s to more fabulous fashion. Kind Regards,

Fossy Meade, Founding Editor in Chief

EDITOR’S PICKS

1) OROLOG by Jaime Hayon OROLOG watches are made in Switzerland employing a super accurate 13-jewel gold plated Swiss chronographic movement. Cases are precisely machined from 316L marine grade stainless steel and finished in matt natural, black and red gold

PVD “Positive Vapour Deposition” coatings. Jaime Hayon’s design signature is palpable across the OROLOG range: the organi-cally shaped case, ‘Capitone’ quilted texture dial face, a singular mix of numeral fonts, sculptured pushers and crown, teamed with exquisite coloured leather straps and unique buckle – all contribute to a dynamically contemporary timepiece. Each timepiece collection is Limited Edition and numbered, which makes them collectables – Jaime Hayon wanted to make a watch that would be an investment. After each watch is sold, he will then start to make a new collection, and no more of the current watches will be made – now that’s truly one of a kind.

2) Diego Vanassi Bara

Diego Vanassi Bara shoes are made by designer Diego, who describes his collec-tions and the reason he make shoes as: “I wish to go beyond creating good-looking

products. I spend a lot of time developing each product to achieve a breakthrough in new materials, construction, concept or crafts.” He showed his latest collection at London Collections: Men, which he said was inspired by tornadoes and each shoe, had an element of the weather inside it. This was a continuation of the last collection of shoes he made, which I completely fell

in love with; a designer who is thinking about the future of footwear and how cus-tomers are looking for more unique clothing and footwear. Ethical and ecological awareness are a part of their business model; combining that with their commitment to their customer they aspire to earn their trust.

3) Brix and Baily Sister in London, Brother in New York, and their bags are designed and made in England. Their brand reflects upon the heritage, craftsmanship and integrity that represents the very best of English design. The hand finished leather handbags,

satchels, totes, clutches and weekend bags combine an unexpected mix of colour and characteristic Brix + Bailey detailing. During London Fashion Week I got the chance to show off their one of kind bag and it was well received. It was an all blue bag – the first they’d ever done, adorned with their silver finishing and the top of the bag was a dark royal blue, with a fine

faux pony skin with croc underlining detail – pure elegance.
