What are you doing this weekend? That question, for Americans, is an easy one to answer and willperhaps make sports history. Over half of U.S. adults plan to watch one of the many sporting eventstaking place today, according to a Nielsen study conducted by Harris Poll. It could dethrone June 17,1994, when an average of 80 million Americans had their televisions on during primetime hours.

There is almost something for every sports fan today.Starting at noon (all times reflect EST) the NFL draft willcontinue to the third day period where rounds fourthrough seven take place. If you like the ponies, you canwatch coverage of the 141st Kentucky Derby almost allday. Live broadcasts from Churchill Downs will start atnoon and run until 7:30 p.m.
The Stanley Cup playoffs kick off at 12:30 p.m. betweenthe Washington Capitals and the N.Y. Rangers. And at
1:35 p.m. the Boston Red Sox and the N.Y. Yankees start their second game.
For those who wish to watch something later in the day, the NBA playoffs will continue with gameseven between the San Antonio Spurs and the L.A. Clippers at 8 p.m. And the infamous boutbetween Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao, being dubbed "the fight of the century," also startsat 8 p.m.
Today's schedule could take the crown from that fateful day in 1994 when Arnold Palmer played hislast U.S. Open, the N.Y. Knicks battled the Houston Rockets in the NBA finals, the N.Y. Rangers helda parade celebrating their Stanley Cup win, the World Cup began in the U.S. and the day footballstar O.J. Simpson was caught in the television car chase with authorities in L.A.
But what sporting event will draw the most viewers? The Harris Poll found that of the peoplewatching sports events this weekend, the highest percentage of viewers (29%) would catch thebaseball game, followed by 21% tuning in to the Kentucky Derby. Despite all the fanfare about theboxing match, the Mayweather Vs. Pacquiao fight is expected to garner the lowest numbers with just11%.
