Greetings S.I. Chapter Members!
The FMCA Family Reunion rally at Perry, GA has just ended and there were over 25 S.I. members who attended and we had several guests at our happy hour. It was a record attendance of 437 who attended the Card Bingo. We also had a good turn-out for the Bean Bag Toss game. There were over 2,600 coaches between FMCA members and vendors. I per-sonally enjoyed the three evenings of entertainment.
The All Singles Dance Rally is going on right now at Bandera, TX and I hope the 90+ people attending are having a good time and their feet don’t get too sore from all that dancing!
The INTO Rally is coming up at Tallahassee, FL with the pre-rally begin-ning on April 11
th; the INTO Rally is April 15-19. There are lots of things to
see and do there. Our chapter has been asked to help with the breakfasts and Card Bingo. We will be having our annual meeting at 1:00 PM on April 14
th. Elections and by-law changes will take place at this meeting.
We need a quorum of 15 members to have the meeting.
I’m expecting someone else has decided to put their name on the ballot for president which means this will be my last “President’s Message.” I’ve en-joyed being your president for the past two years. I have lots and lots of great memories spending time with all of you across this huge and won-derful country of ours and attending the many gatherings I was able to go to. Now is the time for someone else to take over leading the chapter. I had hoped to meet more of our S.I. family members; perhaps down the road I will be able to do that. We have a great group of RVers and I am glad we all get the chance to travel like we do.
On a personal note, just after leaving Perry, I stopped for gas and stupidly tripped over the tow bar and hurt my right leg. A trip to emergency showed no broken bones but at this time, I still can’t walk without crutches let alone drive the rv or car. The FMCA emergency assistance program, 7 Corners, helped me out. They allowed Sue Balmert to drive my rv/car back to Florida and then arranged for her to fly back to Georgia and be driven back to her rv. All at no charge!! I am very grateful for my fellow RVers, Sue Balmert, Carol Klenow, Betty Howard, and Margie Vail, who helped me out in my time of need. THANKS SO MUCH, LADIES!!!!
I look forward to seeing you down the road and please drive carefully!

Rocky Mountain Area Now is the time to remind those who may come West this coming Fall, to consider attending the Rocky Mountain Ramble in Farmington NM. It is scheduled 25-28 September 2016. Registration fee includes elec-tric and water with dump on the grounds. Besides the usual activities, this rally has a noon picnic, brats at the chapter fair and a parking crew that will park any single arrival with other singles!!! Farmington is lo-cated in northern NM some 100 miles NW of Albuquerque via a major highway. The Balloon Fiesta begins Saturday 1 October till 9 Oct--and some of the singles plan to go. Look it up on the internet. There is dry camping for $30/nite without a reservation. Hook-ups if needed are costly and reservations were filled by July 2015. I stayed at Sandia Casino and could see balloons in the distance and with binocs and on the rigs' tv. The Casino allows parking and operates a shuttle to the early am ascensions and the evening balloon glows for a fee. You can volunteer to help crew a balloon--and may even get a ride "up, up, and away"!! I may also be hosting the22017 Western Area Rally at Indio CA. Dates: 11-15 Jan 2017. Indio is the eastern end of the Palm Springs-Coachella line of towns and is a great rally with tremendous entertain-ment and lots a activities, vendors, and exhibitors--and good weather. More info later. hugs joanne
