Coaches Expectations• Coach a small group of students to
help develop their skills in simple mechanics, teamwork, and problem-solving.
• Experience and mechanical aptitude are NOT required – Just a positive attitude and a willingness to learn and work with great students!!
• The coaches main responsibility is to motivate students to work together and solve problems.
Coaching Tips• It’s all about the kids. • Keep it simple. • Start responses with “How…” or
“Why…” or “What would happen if…” • Students learn more from failure than
success. • Consider team building opportunities
such as deciding on a team name, decision making, board set-up, etc…
EARLY Robotics Basics

This Year’s Challenge• “From Sea to Shining Sea”
Robotics Logistics• 3rd-5th teams will be starting in the
fall. 2nd grade teams to start in the spring.
• Teams will meet once a week from 3:00-4:30PM at Marek.
• Materials will be provided. • Marek Neighborhood Tournament is
scheduled for some time in Feb. 2013• Marek Fall 2012 Robotics Schedule
