JANUARY 20, 2019 Parish.  This  is  especially  important  for  those  requesting Baptisms, weddings, funerals or  letters of reference. The process  is  simple.  Pick  up  a  box  of  Sunday  Offering envelopes at the door of the church. The first envelope in the  package  is  your  registration  form.  Your  weekly financial  support  is  your  ongoing  commitment  to  the parish.

STEWARDSHIP THOUGHTS BY CARDINAL

COLLINS A Continuing Series

Jesus  tells  of  a  rich  fool,  captivated  by  his possessions,  who  builds  bigger  barns  to  store  his grain  (Lk 12:13‐21) and says: “Soul, you have ample goods  laid  up  for many  years;  take  your  ease,  eat drink and be merry”. But God said to him, “Fool! This night your soul is required of you; and the things you have prepared, whose will they be?”   For us, as for the rich fool in the parable, the thought of death  is spiritually fruitful, as  it forces each of us to consider our priorities. What is the point of all the energy  I  spend  on  gathering  treasure,  or  spending my  time  and  talent  on  things  that  are  ultimately useless? We need to think of the moment of death, but not wait until then to realize what is important in life, and how we can each be wise stewards of what we have received for this earthly journey.

FIRST FRIDAY ENCOUNTER  Beginning  in  February  our ENCOUNTER evenings will be held on  First  Fridays.  On  Friday, February  11th  we  will  begin  with MASS  at  7:00  p.m.  and  then continue  with  Exposition  of  the Blessed  Sacrament.  We  continue our focus on the Christian Vocation with  a  brief  witness  talk  on  the

single  life.  Each  evening  closes  at  8:00  p.m.  with Benediction  of  the  Blessed  Sacrament.  Confessions  are also available.

MARRIAGE SUNDAY WITH CARDINAL COLLINS  Sunday  February  10th  is Marriage  Sunday  in  the Archdiocese  of  Toronto.  His Eminence  Thomas  Cardinal Collins will preside at a special Mass  to  honour  couples celebrating  milestone anniversaries  (25th,  40th,  50th or  60th)  in  2019.  Join  him  on February  10th  at  4:00  p.m.  at St.  Clare  of  Assisi  Parish  (150  St.  Francis  Ave, Woodbridge). A  reception will  follow. Milestone couples please register online for reserved seating at   www.archtoronto.org/marriage or call 416‐934‐3400 x523. Everyone and anyone is welcome to attend.
