There are more than 600 Christian families living in Bethlehem and are completely dependent on carving olive wood figurines for their livelihood. The recent clashes in the Middle East have stopped the tourism industry in Bethlehem, caus- ing most of these families serious harm in earning their living and forcing many of them to leave their homeland. Emptying the land of Christ from Christians can have tragic conse- quences on the Holy sites. Issam from Star of Bethlehem Groupcame to the United States with a mission to help those families by selling their beautiful religious hand crafts. The cost of goods goes to benefit the Christian carvers to keep them working in the spirit of our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore, the profit from sales goes directly t o the needy Catholic schools and clinics in the Holy Lan d. Star of Beth- lehem is approved by many Bishops, and from the Diocese of Jerusalem. Sale dates are March 10th & 11th. Join us for Generations of Faith this March 7, 9th, and 11th as we experience the meaning and depth of God's love for us through rituals and meditations on the three most important days to the Christian faith-- Holy Thursday, Good Friday, and the Holy Saturday. Current participants should RSVP if they cannot attend. New Registrations are welcome. Call Christen in the Faith Formatio n office for more information. 815-838-2592 ext 114. Dear Family & Friends of St. Dennis, I wish to thank you for following me on this journey to good health, for all your prayers, t houghts and wonderful cards. Each and every one of you has a special place in my heart.  Although I am still on the journey, with many setbacks, I still wish to serve my Lord and God with every precious breath He grants me. Be assured of my gratitude and prayers for all of you and please continue your prayers that I make a full recovery. God bless each and every one of you. SECOND SUNDAY OF LENT Life is filled with situations that can try and test us asStewards of God’s Kingdom. Such situations can either

bring out the best in us or the worst. We have only tolook to recent storms, earthquakes or other disastersand remember how people responded in their aftermath for exam-ples of both. What seems to have made the difference for manywas faith in God, and a commitment to Stewardship.
