Obituary

Ima Jean Boenker, RD, December2006, was a member of the AmericanDietetic Association for over 50 years. She had a long and varied career infoodservice management, serving asbusiness manager of food service forAmerican Airlines, director of schoolfoodservice for the Fort Worth Inde-pendent School District, and later asa state surveyor for long-term care forthe state of Texas, in addition to do-ing long-term care consulting.

ERRATAIn the June 2006 issue of the Journal, the Of Professional Interest article,“Entry-Level Dietetics Practice To-day: Results from the 2005 Commis-sion on Dietetic Registration Entry-Level Dietetics Practice Audit,”contained an error in Table 8, an on-line-only table. The last four columnsbeneath “Ways Involved” and all sixcolumns beneath “Frequency of In-volvement” were mislabeled. Theyshould be labeled, respectively, “Per-cent supervise/manage (3),” “Percentinvolved in any way,” “Meana,” “Stan-dard error,” “Percent daily (20),” “Per-cent weekly (4),” “Percent monthly(1),” “Percent less than monthly(0.5),” “Meanb,” and “Standard error.”A corrected version of Table 8 is avail-able online at www.adajournal.org aspart of this errata notice.

In the August 2006 Editor’s Out-look, “Energy Density: What a Con-cept,” page 1153, the second sentenceof the second paragraph incorrectlylists 35,000 calories as the equivalentto one pound of weight lost per week. The correct number of calories is3,500.

In the October 2006 article, “Effectsof a Stanol-Enriched Diet on PlasmaCholesterol and Triglycerides in Pa-tients Treated with Statins,” the firstsentence on page 1567 includes incor-rect percentages. The sentence shouldcorrectly read, “Plasma cholesteroland LDL cholesterol decreased signif-icantly in the stanol group (10.8% and15.6%, respectively), and plasmaApoB showed a similar reduction(7.4%).”
