Dear Parents and School Community, Our 2018 Swimming Program commences in the first week of next term. This year’s program will be run at the Ballarat Aquatic Centre on Friday afternoons for seven weeks. The change of venue occurred through a review of the Swimming Program last year. The Ballarat Aquatic Centre’s facilities are outstanding after their recent upgrade. Each session will be 45 minutes with groups of up to six students. This year, due to additional government grants, we are able to cost the whole program, including buses, to $36 per student. Permission forms are attached to today’s newsletter. Congratulations to our students for the great way they embraced their learning opportunities at Science Works and the Planetarium last week. It was a highly successful day with high levels of engagement and pleasing student behaviour. Tomorrow is Sports Day. We ask that students arrive at the normal time of 8:45am. Students begin the day in their classrooms and assemble in the undercover area at 9:20am for a start of the sports at 9:30am. Students rotate around seven activities over the morning with the lunch break occurring at 12:50pm. At 1:30pm running races are held. At 2:30pm we pack up and meet in the undercover area for the presentation of the House Cup. We look forward to a day of healthy competition and involvement. A reminder that students can display their support for their house by wearing clothes in their house colours. Please find attached to todays newsletter “Insights” Parenting Ideas from Michael Grose - one of Australia's leading parenting educators. With kind regards
Andy Backwell ~Principal
