The Importance of ‘Due Dates’ There are many activities, excursions etc. that we organise across all year levels over a year. To ensure we can book venues, arrange buses, have the correct ratios of staff to students and other factors that make an excursion or activity a positive one, we do need to set ‘Due Dates’ for the return of notices and money. We never like to say to you that the due date has passed and your child is not able to participate, as we want everyone to be involved to enrich their learning. I very much thank you for ensuring you get your notes and money back to us in time as this does assist us greatly and avoid the uncomfortable conversation. Final Day Of Term 1– Thursday 29

th March – Early Dismissal

We will dismiss on Thursday 29th March at 2.30pm for the end of term

At Kilberry Valley Primary School, we believe that student success is dependent upon

good attendance at school. Students need to attend school regularly in order to

participate fully and gain maximum benefit from their schooling. Daily attendance

enables students to access a full education, allowing them to reach their full potential.

Students with poor patterns of attendance in primary school usually have poor patterns

in secondary school and often disengage from school. There is a direct link between

school attendance and achievement in later life. Poor attendance also makes it difficult

for children to form positive relationships with their peers therefore, we feel that regular

attendance is essential for KVPS students.

EVERY DAY COUNTS

Whole School Average Attendance - From 29/1/2018 to 26/3/2018 = 93%

Fire Restrictions are still in force

This is a reminder that you still cannot burn off as restrictions are still in force. A number of brigades have been called out in recent days to residents burning off.

We have had very little rain for the past 6 weeks so if a fire

starts it will spread through the dry fuel quickly....

If you burn off and we get called then the police will also be called.

If you see someone burning off please call 000 immediately.

One of our children in the school community is receiving medical

treatment which puts them at serious risk if they are exposed to

infectious illnesses, in particular: Chicken -Pox, Measles, Mumps

or Shingles.

It is also important that while your child is unwell they remain at home until they

are no longer contagious. Please let us know immediately by calling

the school office on 9702 8688.

As a school community we value your support in relation to the wellbeing of

all our students.

We have a large number of school

jumpers without names, in

various sizes.

If your child has lost an item of

clothing, please check lost property

in the hall.

CHANGE OF CLOTHING FOR STUDENTS

We would like to remind parents to

provide a change of clothing in children’s school bags—preferably some clean

underwear, track suit pants, windcheater, shorts or a dress.

This is handy for

ALL children in ALL grade levels .

It makes them feel less stressed if they require a change of clothing owing to an accident or a blood nose or

they fall in the mud.

We ask for your co-operation with this matter as our Sick Bay is unable to cope

with the large volume of people requiring changes of clothing.

THANK YOU

Why not practise your Spanish during the holidays? How? Well you could… Watch your favourite cartoons in Spanish on Youtube or download a free app such as Duolingo or Funcat Spanish. Maybe, you could find out what ‘churros’ are and do some Spanish cooking. Que rico!
