1. LTE stands for “Long Term Evolution”. It is successor of 3G UMTS and HSPA (HSDAPA+HSUPA). LTE Advanced is one of technology in evolution from 3G to 4G. LTE was developed by 3GPP ( 3rd generation Partnership Project) . While HSPA and UMTS are 3.5G and LTE can be accepted as 3.99G and LTE advanced as 4G technologyAccording to 3GPP “LTE or the E-UTRAN (Evolved Universal Terrestrial Access Network) is the access part of the Evolved Packet System (EPS). The main requirements for the new access network are high spectral efficiency, high peak data rates, short round trip time and frequency flexibility.”

To be continue….To be continue….2.LTE TUTORIAL:- Here is a straight and simple tutorial is presented to learn

basics of LTE. Till the end of this LTE Tutorial course you will learn

What is LTE ? Architecture of LTE LTE in India:- LTE : Long Term Evolution, Which is the successor to UMTS and

HSPA is now being deployed by many network operators for high speed cellular services in India. 4G LTE has been launched in Kolkata, Bangalore, Pune & Chandigarh city by Airtel service provider. Many operators have not yet upgraded their basic 3G networks, and 3GPP LTE can be seen as the next logical step for many operators in India and all over World.

Overwhelmed and inspired with the success of previous LTE event series, Bharat Exhibitions is filled with enthusiasm to organize the 5th edition of India’s only focused conference on LTE(Long Term Evolution) – the Next Generation Wireless Technology – LTE India 2013, 5th International Conference scheduled on 10th May 2013 at Le-Meridien, New Delhi.

2. What is GSM ?2. What is GSM ? GSM stands for “Global System for Mobile

Communication”. Previously it was known as “Group Special Mobile”. GSM is combination of two multiple access technologies, TDMA ( Time Division Multiple Access) and FDMA (Frequency Division Multiple Access).

3. What is Cell and what is Cellular System ? A Cell is basic “construction block” of a cellular

system. One cell denotes geographical area covered by one trans-receiver. The actual size of cell depends upon several factors like the environment, Number of users and height of Antenna, Power of BTS etc.

In short we can say that cell is smallest radiating unit in mobile network.

A series of cells is used to cover a large geographic area. A cellular system is a mobile network distributed over land areas called cells, each served by at least one fixed-location transceiver, known as a cell site or base station.

Each cell uses a different set of frequencies from neighboring cells to avoid interference

4. What is HSDPA ?4. What is HSDPA ? HSDPA : High-Speed Downlink Packet Access

HSDPA stands for high-speed downlink packet access. It provides faster download speeds. It is an upgrade form of UMTS.

HSDPA provides downlink data rate upto 7.2 Mbps.

HSDPA is High-Speed Downlink Packet Access and HSUPA is High-Speed Uplink Packet Access. Both together are called HSPA.

To be continue….To be continue…. Special Features of HSDPA Adaptive modulation and coding (AMC) Multi-code operation Hybrid Automatic Repeat Request (HARQ) Higher DL peak rates (up to 7.2 Mbps) De-centralized architecture where scheduling

functions are moved from the Radio Network Controller (RNC) to Node-B thus reducing latency and enabling fast scheduling.

In HSDPA Peak data download rate is increased significantly higher than 2Mbps. HSDPA is a new protocol for mobile telephone data transmission. It is known as a 3.5G (G stands for generation) technology which is up gradation

of 3G 3gpp release which is suitable for video calling and mobile TV.

guarantees given by service provider Bharti Airtel and has written to banks in this regard as the company has not paid Rs 350 crore penalty imposed on it for providing 3G services outside permitted areas in violation of rules.6. 6. What is Wimax technology

? WiMAX stands for “Worldwide Interoperability for Microwave Access”. Wimax is used for 4G wireless technology. It has also called 802.16 as per IEEE. WIMAX works similar as Wi-Fi but speed is greatly enhanced. Also WIMAX can serve greater distance rather than WI-FI and can serve to more users simultaneously than Wi-Fi.

4G stands for fourth generation of mobile telephony. It is successor of 3G standards where speed is highly increased.

4G technology is based on Open Wireless Architecture (OWA) which provides cost-effective and spectrum-effective high speed wireless transmission.

In March 2008, the International Telecommunications Union-Radio communications sector (ITU-R) specified a set of requirements for 4G standards, named the International Mobile Telecommunications Advanced (IMT-Advanced) specification.

According to these specifications 4G service will provide 100 Mbps for high mobility communication (such as from trains and cars) and 1 Gbps for low mobility communication (such as pedestrians and stationary users).

Telecom NewsTelecom News Reliance Globalcom integrates Hawk cable system with

network-Reliance Communications under-sea cable arm, Reliance Globalcom has integrated Hawk Cable System with its global network in a move that adds capacity and will benefit customers in India, middle east, Europe and the US.

“We are delighted with the seamless integration of the Hawk submarine cable system with Reliance Global Network… Our existing customer base of over 37,000 corporates in India and over 1,400 corporates in Europe and USA, along with over 200 carrier customers will benefit from this lowest latency network,” Reliance Globalcom’s President and CEO Punit Garg today said in a statement.

Under-sea cable system is a vital link to facilitate internet and other telecom services across countries.

With this, the company has interconnected all its under-sea cable system which enhances “the capability of carrying 5 million HD quality interactive video channels simultaneously.”

The Hawk Cable System was earlier providing connectivity between Yeroskipos in Cyprus and Marseille in France. India was connected to it through Flag cable system of company network.

Reliance Globalcom has now connected Hawk cable system with its global network through Alexandria in Egypt.

Reliance Globalcom Network connects India using the FEA cable system (Mumbai to London) and the Falconcable system (Mumbai to Suez in Egypt). Through the integration with the Falcon cable system in Suez, Egypt, Hawk extends that connectivity to Europe.

Hawk cable system was built by Reliance Globalcom last fiscal to initially set up Mediterranean Gateway and Hub at Cyprus.
