Thursday: - Read for 15 minutes & complete I hope you all had a great weekend! It is hard to believe we are about to start our second week of school. I had such a great first week with my new class. This week the students will be talking about odd/even numbers and ordinal numbers. We will also be learning about citizenship in Content. We will start preparing for word study this week by practicing with First Grade Sight Words. We have our first spelling test this Friday from the sight word list. Monday Folders will be going home this week, so make sure to look for them in your child’s book bag. Please remember to sign them and send them back as soon as possible. Make sure to check the volunteer calendar that was posted on my website. Some jobs will not start right away (i.e.-The Important Dates -August 31 st - 1 st Day of School -September 3 rd - Volunteer Orientation 8:35 am -September 14 th - Star Student begins Sols we are covering Star Student Math: This week we will be working with ordinal numbers and odd/even numbers. Math Facts: For the first quarter, students will have 5 minutes to complete 50 addition or subtraction problems to 20. Star student will begin the week on September 14 th . I will randomly select a student on Monday September 7 th . They will have one week to complete and gather all things needed. Items are due on Monday September 14 th . This is how star student will go for the rest of the year. **We will not be having our first classroom store until the end of September, but we would love prize donations at any time. Thank
