Line of Fire Tool Presentation
Created by the TOCAS LOF Team
COMMON PRACTICE
A common task in the craft of carpentry is to nail lumber to concrete, often in tight locations.
The craftsman’s hands are in the line of fire while holding the lumber that is being nailed.
LOF FRIENDLY TOOL
The Standup Nail Driver allows the craftsman to “drive” nails effectively into concrete while standing up which will eliminate any hand related line of fire hazards.
HOW DOES IT WORK?1. The craftsmen will
‘tap” two nails inside the pilot hole of the lumber and concrete
with a hammer.
2. The Nail Driver will be placed square on top of the nails that are to be
driven through the concrete and lumber.
CONTINUED3. The nails will be
“driven” by the nail driver through the pilot hole and through the lumber and
concrete.
4. Nails will be “driven” correctly in order to
stabilize the base plate piece.
WHERE CAN WE FIND IT?
The most common place to find a “stand up” concrete nail driver is online.
