Limehills School Newsletter 19 August 2020 FROM THE PRINCIPAL’S DESK Thank you so much for your support around our new procedures for COVID Alert Level 2. Our classroom programmes are pretty much business as usual, but there is the inevitable stream of postponements and cancellations. We will keep you all informed as best we can. We hope our farmers have a great run for calving and lambing. It can be a busy and stressful time of the year - even without COVID. So let's all remember to be safe, be sensible and be kind. On a personal note, I would like to make the community aware that I have requested a period of refreshment leave next year. Before my request can be approved, the BOT will need to be satisfied that a suitably qualified and experienced person can be found to successfully fulfil the role of Acting Principal in my absence. Whoever wins the position will inherit the awesome privilege and responsibility of being the temporary leader of our very special school - working alongside our wonderful students, staff and community until I return to resume the role. The excitement from the kids was infectious and their ‘can do’ attitude is amazing. Our children have had so much taken away from them this year, it was great to see this still happen. Our principal Jim has requested some refreshment leave. This is an initiative from the MOE that allows our principals to take time out and come back refreshed to continue the great work they do. We will be advertising for an experienced principal to fill this role, which will go in the EdGazette this week. There is a process to follow and we will endeavour to keep the community informed as best we can. Finally, 2020 has definitely had its challenges, so we as a Board would like to take this opportunity to thank Jim and all our wonderful staff for what they've done so far this year. You all have gone the extra mile and I'm sure we also speak for the rest of the school community and say thank you, we appreciate it. Many thanks Pete Hammond.

FROM THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES

Hi all

It was great to catch up with so many of you on our annual ski trip.
