language on a Monday or Wednesday

between 1.40pm and 2.40pm.

Setting

Students are set by ability in the core subjects of English, Maths and Science.

Assessment

Assessment is on-going throughout the year but there are two formal assessments each

term. The sixth formal assessment is an end of year examination.

Reporting

There are six reports a year (one each half term). One of these is a full written report.

Parent teacher meetings

There are six opportunities a year to meet with teachers (one each half term). Three of

these meetings will be with the House Tutor, two with the Form Tutor and one with the

Subject teachers. Additional meetings can be arranged through the House Tutor.

Ways you can help your child To improve your child’s ability to think, comprehend as well as improve their vocabulary skills in English they MUST read regularly. By doing this your child’s English will improve significantly. English is to be used at all times in class and we encourage you to use English when talking to your friends and at home. The only way you can improve your English is with practice, practice and more practice!
