September 2021 Financial Report

An average of $18,000 in the collection is

needed weekly to meet projected

expenses.

What does this number mean?

St. Brendan Parish receives revenue from

several sources. To pay for projected

expenses, the weekly collection must

average $18,000. Revenue from other

sources, such as from bequests and special

one-time donations, grants, and tuition from

school families who are not parishioners, is

also needed in addition to the weekly

collection to meet regular operational

expenses.

If the weekly collection average is too low,

how are the bills paid?

So far, St. Brendan has been able to pay

bills despite a too-low weekly collection by

drawing from savings and by receiving

unexpected revenue (such as government

money for COVID-19). However, grants and

some special donations often cannot be

used for regular operational expenses.

Church Envelopes for this Fiscal Year

2021-22 are behind $50,824

RCIA meets on Sunday morning

after the 9:00 AM Mass, what is formally

known as the Rite of Christian Initiation for

Adults (RCIA). We have nicknamed it

Catholicism 101. It is an introduction to our

faith for those who are interested in learning

more about what it means to be a Catholic.

We will meet for an hour each Sunday. Here

are some of the topics which will be

discussed:

The History of Israel

The Old Testament and the Covenants

Introduction to the New Testament and

its Covenant

Prayer why do we need it

Conversation with God

Intro: to the Mass by Bishop Robert Barron

The Sacraments - Symbolon by the

Augustine Institute

Catholic Moral Vision

Catholic Social Teaching

The Eucharist by Bishop Barron

The Catechism

Church History

Each class involves a video of about 20

minutes in length, discussion questions and

reflection. For example: “It would be easier for

the world to survive without the sun than to do

without Holy Mass.” St. Padre Pio

Discussion: how can you more com-

pletely give yourself to Jesus at Mass?

If you know of someone who would be

interested, please give us their name

and permission to contact them, we

would be happy to follow up and visit

with them.

We need your prayers & your support.

God Bless! Vince Fuemmeler Deacon

SEPT. ADVERTISERS OF THE MONTH:

AUDRAIN VET CLINIC &

BURLE CHIROPRACTIC

Our students participated in many acts of service to our community for Tyron Lue

Day of Service including cleaning up the Optimist Fields, preparing bags of food at

the YMCA, organizing materials at The Help Center, and creating cards for those in

the Veterans Home and area nursing homes. Gratefully giving of their time and

talents to care for others, they are great examples of stewardship. Thank you to

Melissa Buckman-Young for helping to organize everything and to all of our drivers

and chaperones!
