Life With One Hand Tied Behind Your BackAs part of the Term 3 Inquiry Study about Disability the Grade 3/4's conducted an experiment to see what life is like for those with a disability that affects their upper limbs. They had to tie their dominant hand beside them and try a range of activities with only the use of their non-dominant hand. They had to see how they would cope on their own and then try to work together to complete simple tasks including cutting and writing. Below are some reflections.

Learning To Write – Through Cooking!

The Grade Preps have been studying about writing procedural texts. They were very clever and chose to learn to write recipes as it meant their writing work would have a yummy reward at the end of it all! All the Prep Grades learnt the recipe for pikelets and got to try out each of the steps in their ‘Method’ in our Kid’s Kitchen. Thanks to our parent volunteers who helped out on the day.

Congratulations Jagga!

Here are some reflections:

We learnt the recipe for pikelets. I wrote these ingredients in mine – flour, milk, eggs and sugar.Elodie W PJ

We got to eat the pikelets after they were cooked. We could choose jam or honey. I chose honey. It was yummy!Arabella M PJ

Congratulations to our Sports Captain, Jagga Smith who was part of the undefeated Victorian Primary School AFL team who won the National Championship last week in Darwin. Victoria beat South Australia in the final to take the National Cup – well done Jagga and the victorious Victorians!

Richmond Junior Footy Club U12

Just a short note to let you know that the Richmond Junior Footy Club U12 Girls team has made the big dance! Four grade 6 gals - Saskia Blackburn, Charlotte Thomas, Erin Rahilly and Rita Cahill are in the team that has made the U12 girls Grand Final on Sunday. (Rita’s dad Richard is coach). They play the Kew Comets, who are undefeated in 2 seasons, so we’ve definitely got the underdog status! It’s a huge achievement for the girls who are only in their first and second seasons of footy.

2nd HAND UNIFORMSWe have a large stock of 2nd Hand Uniforms at the school that can be purchased at a small cost. If anyone is interested please see either Jane or Judy at the school office so we can check your requirements to see if we can help.

Every week, we pose a quiz question based on the name of one of our wonderful students.Write your answer on a piece of paper, along with your name and grade, and put it in the cream letter box in the office. The first correct entry drawn will win

a Student Pass for one hour.

The winning entry will be drawn on Wednesday at 3.30pm.NOTE:

> You may place only one entry per

week in the box.> Each player must put in their own entry

(no joint entries).> If you win, you are win-binned

(disqualified) for one week, to give others a go.

* NO WINNER so we are repeating last

week’s clue *

This Grade 3 student’s initials are what little kids call a horse.
