WV State Southern DistrictOfficer of the Year – Jerry Clemens

Teresa goes above and beyond to maintain theswimming pool for the community and our lodge.She spends countless hours preparing theswimming pool for the season. She can befound with waterproof boots and a powerwasher in her hands at the beginning of theseason.J She has collaborated with the cityto obtain grants to pay for repairs and a freeswim day for the community. She also savedthe last swim for our furry friends. The lodgeis very proud to have her awarded Elk of theYear at a state level and thank her for herdedication to the community and our lodge.

Jerry, our Lodge Esquire consistently goes above andbeyond performing duties as an officer. Jerry devotesvolunteering extra time to truly become involved withcommunity events. He has volunteered to help with theNational DAP presentation at the local elementaryschool, the Hoop Shoot, supports the veterans, ENFauction, cooks in the pavilion for the State ElksTournament, gathers the PER, and is madman with ahedger during spring clean-up. The lodge would like tothank Jerry for his dedication and he is well deserved tobe award Officer of the Year at a State level.

Meadow River Valley Community Gathering Updates (Impact Grant):

Here are the highlights from the 4-7-18-18 MRV Community Gathering. PastorChad Rhodes, Katie Ickes, Woody Hanna, and Angie Leef completed presentationson various educational and workforce opportunities in the Meadow River Valley.

Jenny Curry, Greenbrier County ChildNutrition Coordinator completed a presentation on the Greenbrier County Summer FeedingProgram and Energy Express; Robin Williams and Mayor Andy on the Rainelle Summer Festivalon June 23 and Sarah McIlvaine on the Western Greenbrier Farmer’s Market.

Anniversary Grant Helping- Central Greenbrier Little League

The lodge used the Anniversary Grant of $1,500 to support the Central Greenbrier LittleLeague. The grant funded 23 children based on financial need. Their membership fees plus anadditional gift card of $20 from Dicks was provided to help with their equipment, such as cleatsor a glove. The Little League honored our help by hanging a banner on the ball field fence. TheLWB lodge continues to stay active in the community, this is what being an Elk is all about.

Beef raffle tickets are for sale, take a chance buy one or sell tickets for the lodge.You can get them at the bar or from one of the officers. Please submit all ticketstubs and money from raffle to Billy Hoover. All proceeds after cost will be tosupport the operations of the lodge.
