It will be carried out at Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt (PTB) in Braunschweig, Germany, from 1113 June 2013.

For the first time not only young metrologists from National Metrological Institutes (NMIs) of COOMET member countries are invited to take part in the competition, additionally we ask the RMOs from all other geographical regions of the world to select three young scientists from their member NMIs, to participate in this competition.

Additionally we ask the RMOs to delegate one representative as a member of the judging panel.

Terms and Conditions for the competition are laid down in Recommendation COOMET R/GM/18:2013 which is linked to this letter. According to this document all four previous competitions were carried out.

This year, in deviation from COOMET R/GM/18:2013, we would like to specially emphasize that for this extended competition only English papers and presentations can be accepted. It is not possible to assure translation and interpretation for all implied languages.

Supplementary to the terms and conditions of COOMET R/GM/18:2013, we ask participants to submit a poster in addition to their papers. The posters should demonstrate the subjects of presentation and will be shown and discussed with interested scientists and guests of PTB during the event. The size of posters should not exceed size DIN A0 (84,1 x 118,9 cm), upright format.

All abstracts and papers which are submitted in time will be published in an appropriate manner. Abstracts will be published in two languages, in English and also in the mother tongue of the respective participant, papers only in English language.
