The students are given a table with several adjectives from specific parts of the body and match them to the corresponding person in the picture, each one with one specific adjective of each one of the parts of the body.

The students are given 2 pictures in which they have to briefly describeeach person.

Personal comments:

About the lesson:

From the beginning of the lesson students are given input in context about how to describe someone, this input is taken out from situation that could happen or happen in our daily life.

This input is comprehensible enough for students to understand it and assimilate it since students only learn English when they understand what they are hearing or reading (input).

Across the many activities created in this project, students are also given several pictures in order to establish form-meaning connections and make the understanding even more achievable.

Goals and objectives:

The main goal of this lesson is that students can make the correct form-meaning connections between the adjectives and the meanings, and also make them capable of using this knowledge in context to describe people and themselves.

Personal commentary:

Personally I have realized that making this for-meaning connection in activities is the best way to not only learn but also teach language, not only English, since all languages are entire systems that are so different one from another, that only understanding leads to acquisition, personally I think that every language teacher should use this types of activities and not only focus on teaching grammar, rules, vocabulary, but make language understandable and easy to learn.
