Guiding Principles

Jesus Taught Through Story!

Stories capture our imagination and teach us powerful lessons. In each session we’ll start with a story from the Bible. These stories will launch your discovery of the truth.

Jesus’ Followers Learned Truth Through Discovery!

They had ‘ah-ha’ moments as they walked with Him. These resources will encourage you to think through what you believe. You won’t find an answer key here. Rely on the Holy Spirit, the ultimate teacher, and expect Him to lead you into the truth (Jn. 16:13).

We Explore Truth By Living It!

If we stop short of action, we’re just filling our heads with biblical facts. The “Listen” and “Do” sections of each session are the most important. As you take action to live the truth, you’ll experience Jesus living out His mission through you. That is life’s greatest joy.

What has brought you joy in your Christian experience?

When is it difficult to see following Jesus as a delight?

Describe a time you gave something over to God. How was that sacrifice worth it?

Dear Jesus, I want You in the center of my life and commit through Your power to serve and obey You. Anytime. Anywhere. At any cost. To do anything. !What is your reaction when you read this prayer? Could you make a commitment like this? !There are incredible joys that you can experience through greater obedience to Christ. That’s why discovering truth can’t be the last part of this session. You need to experience it personally. Now it’s time to hear from God and responds to what He’s asking you to do. !If you’re ready to make this commitment, take a moment to pray. You can sign one of the 4-A cards as a daily reminder of this commitment. You’ll find these at our Welcome Center. !Listen

Start by spending a few minutes in silent prayer. Ask God the following questions and listen for His direction:

1. God, is anything holding me back from deeper commitment to You? !2. God, what are You teaching me? !3. What is one thing You want me to do this week?

“The kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field. When a man found it, he hid it again, and then in his joy went and sold all he had and bought that field.

“Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant looking for fine pearls. When he found one of great value, he went away and sold everything he had and bought it.
