SCHOOL NEWS
Good afternoon everyone,
Productivity is the word of the week at Lavington Public! Student reports are being compiled as you’re reading your newsletter on whatever format you read it in!
An insight into 2019, in terms of how we will be structuring our school. It will be a stage-based approach. By this, I mean:
3 x Kindergarten classes 5 x Stage 1 (1/2) 4 x Stage 2 (3/4) 4 x Stage 3 (5/6)
Our school executive see many benefits of this approach. These include: consistency of approach to curriculum, assessment, leadership of the stages, targeted grouping and sustainable use of resources – in particular, our Learning and Support staff. At LPS, we want no silos of best practice. Having a stage-based approach will allow for far more collaboration and sharing of best practice. I’m very excited about the opportunities this will present.
Also, class formations will be developed in Week 9. This will take a great deal of time to ensure many factors are considered prior to placing your student into a class. Classes and the teachers of the classes will be named prior to the break, however, individual class lists won’t be declared until Day 1, Term 1, 2019.
There will be some staffing changes, in classrooms and in the office, with some exciting additions. We will also announce our Librarian position over the coming weeks. That’s enough information for now! See you all soon! Brett

K-6 Presentation Night Thursday 6 December 2018 @ 6:30pm
Presentation Night is an opportunity for our school community to celebrate the success of students who deserve acknowledgement for their efforts over the year.
As you can appreciate, not everyone can nor will be receiving an award on the night; however this should not deter students or families from attending this special occasion. Our school aims to deliver education that inspires students to
succeed, foster high expectations and prepare students for positive participation in society. A whole school presentation night is just one function where we can celebrate current achievements and inspire other
students to reach their full potential. Albeit not compulsory, the night is very much an important function that promotes our great school.
Families’ attendance is welcomed and encouraged. Hope to see you all at the Albury Entertainment Centre on Thursday 6 December 2018.
Can you please sell and return tickets & money by Monday 3 December 2018 to the office, this includes unsold tickets.
Thank you for your support LPS P & C Committee
