    1/2

Beams with corrugated webs (BCW) are a recent structural solution, which major asset

lies in taking advantage of the increase of rigidity on the web leading to better resistanceagainst local buckling and improved shear capacity resulting in higher loadbearing capacity.

espite known benefits of BCW, their behaviour, especially in fire situation, still lacks

simplified formulae to enable the designers to better e!ploit this structural system. "ocusing

on this aspect, the aim of this study was to develop simplified methods to predict theloadbearing capacity obtained numerically from simulations with finite element software.

#he new proposals developed in this work present a new design philosophy for the fire

situation closer to the principles of other structural systems while, at the same time, deliver more accurate solutions for the engineers in practice to use.
