Student Published Application

Once you have the Citrix client installed and you have logged in, you will see one“published application like that above for Student 8. From there just left-click on theicon (ONCE) to launch an RDP session to your assigned VM Desktop. If you get anerror, see below. If not, continue on to the next page.

There are other reasons why the connection won’t work. If you get an errormessage stating something like “SSL error, you have not chosen to trust Go DaddySecure Certification authority.” Then do the following and try to connect again:

From your IE browser, select Tools > Windows Update and then select Custom (notExpress). Then from the “Select by Type” section on the left-hand side of the page,select “Software, Optional.” Then select “Root Certificates Update” and then installthe update. Restart your browser and then try again.

In addition, if you use a proxy server on your network the Citrix ICA client may notwork. However, some proxy settings do work.

Finally, if it still does not work, and you are sure that you are not using a proxy

server, then you can also try this. Go to the Internet Options > Security tab inInternet Explorer. Select the Trusted Sites icon and then the Sites button. Then“add” https://edservices.spirentcom.com as a trusted site.



Virtual Machine (VM) Desktop

The RDP login s for all VM Desktops are the same (student#vm, password training) .

A ll VMs have the same environment, installed applications, themes, and settings.Please leave them that way.

Also, please save everything in your general “My Documents”folder. In there youcan make a folder called your first or last name. If you want to keep your files,the easiest way is to e-mail them to yourself from the VM if you have Web-Mail.If not, you can just use FTP provided you have an FTP server available.

Overview

DescriptionThis lab is intended to familiarize students with the Landslide application fromSpirent Communications to create an Emulated SGSN Node, UMTS test case, andNetwork Host test case inside a new Test Session.


Objectives

After completing this lab, you will be able to do the following:• Navigate the Landslide GUI for test session and test case creation• Create a test session that includes multiple embedded test cases• Create and configure DMF’s (Data Message Flows) for IP data• Configure Automation Control

DescriptionThis lab is intended to familiarize students with the Landslide application from SpirentCommunications to analyze test results, capture and view protocol traces from test serverEthernet ports, and create reusable report templates using results analyzer.

Create a new Landslide Test

New Test Session

1. Create a new test session.

a. Instead of clicking NEW to add a new test case, click ADD to add anexisting test case.

i. Add “Emulated_SGSN_Node” test case and configure therequired Network Devices parameters.

SGSN Node (Emulated SGSN)

For the purpose of this exercise, the SGSN Node test case is the SGSN under test.

1. The instructor will move an SGSN Node test case into your student directorycalled “Emulated_SGSN_Node”. You must configure:
