least so says tlie dispatch which carried the news around the world. And we must believe news dispatches.

Think of the responsibility which Is now on tha heads of Ihe youthful coa tlngent that led in d Won the l<attte to bring modernism to that town. If anything, should go wrong—If the re suits of this Iconoclastic change would not be all that Is ho|>od for—think of thc stigma on youth, modern youth !

That la the trouble with ntrentea. Those who advocate them aaaume such • terrific responsibility If anything goes wrong. And In all radical changes Involving profound cosmic principles, thers Is always the chance of some thing going wrong.

We have our angers erossed for the chnreh In that little town. Let us hope that those courageous spirits who waged tbs noble battle, years shead of their ttms, to permit men to- alt nezt to women In church, may be vindicated, Indeed Justified, hy tb s happy results o f tbs unprecedented and phenomenal experiment!

In Township Setto, 2 to 1 Saturdayx

It would be news, and rare news, if a baseball game between two ciuhs of the saute community ended at 2 to i, and claims of

of last Saturday doesn’t fall under the head of new news. Nossur The tale is aa old as the Hills.

| T^ PdkjXrnerican Club lost the Fourth of Julyv game aid tti.^oota^ and all their friends at once regis-

Kr^^hctV augMtilied howls. The referee, it teems, was cockeyed, but not so cock-eyed that he was not able to fafom the Columbus Qub in two or three—nay five or six occasions deals that spelled the margin between victory and defeat.As we have said, the occasion doesn't deserve too much

comment; its an old story. The game will be the talk of the town a week. Maybe for two weeks the more rabid of the rooters will mention it. After that it will go down in the records: Columbus Q ub ' 2, Polish American Q ub 1. In the years that come down the aisle you will find in your records just that score.THE REMARK APT:

The aptest crack on the whole situation was made by one e players who remarked to another one: “Well, this'll makethe

Those umpires were martyr:, as well as heroes. They did il all for the Cause (and keep that C in upper cap, Mr. Lino typer!) That series at the end of the year will be a wow, buthey won't be around to see or officiate it, something tells us.

This writer was standing near die fpul flag toward whicthe ball bounded. To us the ball seemed fair by Slfc^ncJie'oaid «4 Another observer rKttmoFe ih w six inches tRe T>dfer sid of us, said “fixil". And the umpire ruled “foul". In a ease 0 that kind we can only say the umpire’s judgement goes. ANO THER DECISION;

Red Keay gathered in a fly in left field and Solein who waon third dashed tor home. He beat out the throw, but it waruled he had not waited long enough on third base. Bear Fo claimed Solein had left the has: before the ball landed in Keay' mitt.

Protest stormed again. We again were in a position to an the play. But wc were watching the hall like hundrcdn q bthers. W e didn’t see when S dcin started off- like hundred* o others. W hen we looked away from Keay, Solein was poundini for home midway in the base line. Tbe umpire should h.ivi been watching, and we are willing to go Jong with his judge ment.

If the umpire did not see the play, which he should havi been looking iur, he was incompetent, and the preserve ot .u incompetent umpire on the ie ld was no mote the Columbu Clubs fault than the Polish American’s. *P. A .’S SURPRISED:

By today, calmer reflection should have supplanted the ex cited protests registered by the Polish American players and then followers. They did surprise the gathering which expected ar easy Columbus Q u b triumph—and they came so close to win ning, it hurt clear-down to their toes to k««.

They .should pot feel ao up.et, however. Their defeat was moral v ic to r y that earned them the praise of the c n iw d and th* post-season series. Swallowing their amoLunts and w ork in g ft (hat Harrison Hudson series the nineteenth id this tnnnth u wfw they should do. By wtnfung1 either nr hnth <>f tho*« gam® they can show that their game Fourth of July Was no fluke ..-i that they are true challengers for the cham p* giahtp of the fcnvti ship.

Authorities do not attempt to explain why 'certain persons are sensitive to certain pollens: they las t are. th a t’s All; further, that sensitivity Is known to be transmitted from generation to generation.
