Korker Date: 28 June 2005 Accession No. 2005.3.1-4 Acquisition Information / Provenance Personal collection of Mr. Korker (Korky) that contains photographs, ephemera, and documents. Mr. Korker was born in New Canaan, Connecticut in 1925. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1943 and became a photographer. After the War, he opened a small photograph studio and laboratory in Danbury, Connecticut. After his marriage to Geraldine (Gerry) Hansen in 1949 and for the next 20 years, he and his wife visited Fellsmere during the winter months visiting his wife’s parents. In 1966, they bought a house in Fellsmere. Both Korky and Gerry became professional photographers and built up an excellent reputation. It was not until 1991 when they both decided to retire that they made a permanent move to Fellsmere. His reputation soon became well-known and he was often asked to preserve or re-print many of the old photographs from pioneers of the Fellsmere community. Oregon Street, built 1922-23 by C.E. Nourse and dedicated in 1924. The building now exists as the Fellsmere Historical Church. KOR-08-001-0004 Fellsmere Public Grade and High School. Started in 1915 opened on October 2,

1916 to 136 students, Grades 1-12.
