Dear Parents and Carers, I understand that this is a difficult and challenging time for all our fami-lies as the NSW Government attempts to reduce the spread of the COVID-19 virus. I would like to sincerely thank you for your under-standing as you continue to support your children Learning from Home. The following announcements were made this week regarding the cur-rent restrictions: · The Greater Sydney area will remain in lockdown until 28/8/2021 · Remote learning will continue until 28/8/2021 · HSC students are scheduled to return to school on 16/8/2021 At this point, the Department of Education is preparing operational ad-vice to schools. The impact of further lockdown in LGAs means that some teachers who live in those areas will not be able to be at school while re-strictions last. If you are sending your child, please be aware that they will not always be with their class teacher. The best way for your child to connect with their teacher is to ensure they attend the zoom meet-ings if you have a device. Each week we are posting the next weeks’ student booklet out to fami-lies so that you have the work ready for your child. Frameworks are on the Website each week.

Education Week This week is Education Week and unfortunately, we have been unable to celebrate this event at school. We still wish to recognise the stu-dents from preschool to year 6 who continue to be ‘Life Long Learners” and will be posting out special Education Week awards to these stu-dents. The award winners have been included in this newsletter. Con-gratulations to all our award winners.

Colour Run Notes had gone home regarding the Colour Run which was going to be held on the 21

st July,

2021 our 100th Day of Learning. Due to the Covid restrictions we will be postponing this event to

later in the year. If you do not want your child to participate in this event you will need to fill in the OPT OUT slip and return it to school.

New Sentral Parent Portal All families should have received a letter by email and/or one with your child regarding infor-mation on how to log on to the internet and register for access to our new Sentral Parent Portal. If you could please register as soon as possible so that you can access school notes, attendance matters and newsletters. If you haven’t received an email or letter please contact the school and make sure your email and address details are correct. Currently we are sending lots of infor-mation for families through the Sentral portal and on our school Facebook Page.

Kindergarten Enrolments for 2022 If you live within our school feeder zone we are now taking Kindergarten enrolments for 2022. Please call into the office between 8.30am and 3.00pm to collect enrolment forms. Alternatively you can enrol online if you live in our zone. Please take note we will need to see and copy your child’s birth certificate, up to date immunisation status and 100 points of residential proof. Citi-zenship certificates will need to be copied if both parents were born overseas. Any health plans will also need to be copied. If you are applying for an Out of Area enrolment application (this will need to be completed regardless of whether you have students already attending) please ensure that we receive your application with your legitimate reasons for applying as soon as possible so that they can be forwarded to the panel when it is convened in the coming months. I understand that this is a difficult and frustrating time for everyone. Above all try to stay safe and if you are struggling don’t forget there are many organisations you can reach out to if needed. I have listed two below: Kids Helpline is a telephone counselling support line for children and young people ages 5 to 25 and available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. 1800551800 Adults can call Life Line on13 11 14 - this service provides compassionate support for people in crisis.
