King Hall Outreach Program | 2018 Summer Session Application UC Davis School of Law is recognized for its leadership in diversifying the legal profession and is committed to educating lawyers who uphold the highest standards of professional excellence, ethics, public service, and social justice. The King Hall Outreach Program (KHOP) is a no-cost program serving high-achieving undergraduate students from underrepresented communities by preparing them for the law school admission process through workshops, presentations, critiqued writing assignments, and individual advising. The application deadline for the 2018 Summer Session is Thursday, May 24, 2018.

Applicants to the 2018 KHOP Summer Session must satisfy the following criteria:

1. Currently attend, or have recently transferred to, a four-year college with one or two years before graduation OR have graduated from a four-year institution in 2017.

2. Be considered a first-generation college student (no parent or legal guardian has a bachelor’s degree) OR come from an economically underserved community or background defined as having a household income less than or equal to 200% of the federal poverty guidelines (https://aspe.hhs.gov/poverty-guidelines).

3. Have a cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher as calculated on a 4.33 scale. Cumulative GPA includes grades received from all postsecondary institutions you have attended (community college(s), universities, etc.).

4. Intend to apply to law school, but are not currently in the process of applying for 2018 enrollment.5. Have not previously completed an outreach program at UC Davis School of Law. Prior applicants who meet the

eligibility requirements but did not previously attend are welcome to re-apply.

6. Attend all 2018 KHOP Summer Session meetings on June 23, June 30, July 21, July 27, and July 28.

4. Letter of RecommendationAsk one professor or teacher to write a letter of recommendation that describes in detail your academic and personal qualifications and accomplishments. The letter of recommendation must be signed by your recommender and accompanied by a waiver form. If you, or your parent/guardian, did not file taxes in 2017, submit the 2016 return.
