FROM THE
WELCOME
Dear players, sponsors, parents and fans,
We welcome Marshall Soper and his Parramatta FC to Hensley for tonight’s match. It’s been a difficult season for Parramatta, but I remember when they were the team to beat in the early 2000’s so they are sure to return to that position in the near future.
Meanwhile just when we’ve caught our breath from the Waratah Cup triumph, Hakoah FC has had another huge week as our Juniors returned to action and our First Grade had yet another blockbuster win in the Westfield FFA Cup as the boys make further history with a win in the Round of 32 match versus Hills Brumbies on Wednesday night, by the incredible scroreline of 6-3 in extra-time. Jaba once again led from the front with two goals while Gidi Sweet had a huge impact scoring the winner and setting up the fifth. We now look forward to the draw for the Round of 16!
It was great to see the Juniors kick off their season again as the Maccabiah boys arrived home and reported for duty, with the 14s and 15s resuming right where they left off, with strong wins against Blacktown Spartans! The 14s were again resolute in defence with a 2-1 victory, while the 15s continued their free-
scoring ways with a 4-2 romp. I never get tired of saying just how exciting it is to watch these young boys go through the Hakoah FC pathway with First Grade and beyond in sight, and of course the same for our world-beating 12s who continue to match it against the very best in the state.
In the Seniors both the 18s and 20s had their work cut out for them against very strong Sydney FC sides, and both lost by single goals despite looking like taking points throughout both matches. On a personal note, it was great to see Jordi Swibel bring his goal scoring form back from Israel as he scored and put in a fine performance for the 18s. Watch this space in regards to his trial with the Maccabi Tel Aviv 19s, as we hope to get good news on this front. First Grade drew 1-1, with much of the focus already on Wednesday’s Westfield FFA Round of 32 Cup tie several key players were rested. Worth noting the goal was a “Jaba special”, equalising with a header from the penalty spot.
This is our second last home match of the regular season, so we hope to end up with two wins and a great atmosphere today in an all-day affair with the Juniors and Seniors both home at Hensley.

The FFA Cup may be on Hakoah Sydney City East’s mind but that doesn’t mean they will
be anything but determined for victory when they host Parramatta FC on Saturday night.
Gavin Rae’s Hakoah side have lacked consistency this season but have had moments of brilliance which has included an incredible Waratah Cup win.
Parramatta on the other hand will be desperate not to suffer their 14th straight defeat in what has been a horror season for the Melita Stadium base side.
It will be a tough night at Hensley Athletic field for Marshall Soper’s side but a complete 90 minute performance could be the key to a shock win.

REVIEWSSydney FC 1 - Hakoah Sydney City East 1 at Lambert Park
Sydney FC and Hakoah Sydney City East shared the points on a frosty night at Lambert Park, settling for a 1-1 draw after exchanging goals in the first half of the PlayStation®4 National Premier Leagues NSW Men’s competition clash.
Hakoah’s player-coach Gavin Rae opened the scoring early, albeit for the opposition, with an own goal, before Hakoah pegged their opponents back with a Neil Jablonski header a little under twenty minutes later.
A goalless second half wasn’t for the want of trying, but a draw would have appeared the fairest result – and so it ended.
Parramatta FC 0 - Sydney United 58 FC 5 at Melita Stadium
Sydney United 58 have re-entered the PlayStation®4 National Premier Leagues NSW Men’s top five after easily accounting for 10-man Parramatta 5-0 in their round 19 clash at Melita Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
Mark Rudan’s side struck twice in an eventful opening fifteen minutes with the Reds racing to a 2-0 lead thanks to goals from Panny Nikas and Matt Sim.
Parramatta were reduced to ten men after 13 minutes following a bizarre red card to Victor Anyimba who was dismissed for lashing out at Peter Markovic on the halfway line.
The striker’s removal cut any hopes of an unlikely Parramatta comeback short, and although Marshall Soper’s side battled diligently for the remainder of the contest, the visitors added three second half goals through Sim as well as substitutes Adrian Vranic and Yutaro Shin to leapfrog Sydney Olympic into fifth position.

Hakoah Sydney City East can bolster their finals hopes with a win over bottom-placed
Parramatta when the two sides meet at Hensley Athletic Field on Saturday night.
Paul Hubbard’s side are among a cluster of sides baying for fourth and fifth position and are four points behind fifth-placed Rockdale ahead of their remaining three fixtures.
Hakoah must allow no room for complacency when they welcome the struggling Eagles and will be desperate for three points with a key encounter with Sydney Olympic to come in round 21.
With forward Connor Eldridge continuing his excellent season with another goal against Sydney FC last Saturday it could be another long afternoon for Parramatta who have conceded 20 goals in their last three fixtures.
The Eagles offered several signs of promise before a second half collapse in last Sunday’s 6-1 defeat at the hands of Sydney United 58 with midfielder Modassir Hussain in particular catching the eye, and will need to deliver a
strong performance to avoid a 15th consecutive loss.
