Kermel ® personal protection for the toughest missions Kermel® has supplied thermostable garments for use by military armoured vehicle teams since their introduction thirty years ago. More recently, Kermel® fabrics have been selected for the FELIN French military contract to equip the « Soldiers of the Future ». Kermel® meta aramid fibre has permanent flame resistance properties and is intended for the manufacture of high performance protective clothing worn by people out in the field of operations on every continent. Non-flammability Kermel® based garments are inherently and permanently non-flammable. Resistance to chemicals The chemical properties of Kermel® provide efficient protection against most chemical agents. Kermel® fibre delivers strong resistance to cold acids, even when concentrated, and when immersed for extended periods in dilute alkalis at ambient temperature.It also withstands most organic solvents, chlorine bleach, detergents and water vapour.
