Tissue Paper Hearts

Missouri 4-H T-Shirts Becky Simpson

Youth, families, faculty and staff may once again purchase a Missouri 4-H t-shirt through 4HOnline. The cost of the shirts are $11 each. Orders will be placed through the event registration system in 4HOnline. You may pay by check or cred-it card. If paying by check, please make your check out to your local extension office. Once payment is received in the local county extension office, your 4-H faculty/staff will approve the registration and the order will be processed. The t-shirts are black with short-sleeves and a green and white design. Sizes avail-able include youth sizes small-large; adult sizes small-3XL. If your size is currently out of stock, you will be contacted directly by someone from the Daviess County Extension office. Any out of stock sizes will be replenished in a timely manner and your order processed. If you have any questions please contact Becky Simpson at [email protected] or 660-663-3232.

Materials: Tissue paper in different colors and patterns Glue Small paint brush Water (to dilute the glue) Plastic bag or plastic wrap

Directions: Place a large piece of cling wrap or plastic bag flat on a large sheet of newspaper or drop-cloth on the work surface Then rip colorful tissue papers (preferably in some harmonious colors), place them in one layer, slightly overlapping, to cover the whole area on cling wrap; we went with pink and purple for some, and baby blue and pale yellow for some as we had those handy Brush on diluted white glue Add another layer of torn tissue paper and brush with diluted white glue Add as many as 5 or 6 such layers, sprinkle glitter, allow to dry Brush on some more diluted white glue to keep the glitter from falling off (this is a bit challenging as some of the loose glitter wants to stick to the brush), and allow to dry completely Peel off the cling wrap/plastic bag and now we have a beautiful sheet of thick colorful tissue paper to cut

Important things to know about 4-H Shooting Sports. Shooting Sports in our county has grown dramatically since starting in 2017 with four mem-bers in Archery. Each year, because of people stepping forward to attend the training we have been able to add to disciplines. In Schuyler County you may enroll in Archery 22 Air Rifle Shotgun. If you are interested in any of the other shooting sports disciplines you will need to attend practices with another county. (Contact me for more information on this) You must take the 740 safety class (even if you are just wanting to do Art Hall projects for

the fair and not attend shoots) This class has been scheduled for April 6th You must have 10 hours of training before attending any local shoots (the 6 hours 740 class

counts towards this requirement) To attend a State shoot you must have participated in a local shoot that follows State Shoot

level rules Practicing at home with parents does not count towards hours, only time with Certified

Shooting Leaders will count. You must be at least 11 years old to enroll in Shotgun Schuyler County has a Shooting Sports Club that you attend along with your regular

monthly community club meetings (2019 scheduled meetings are the second Sunday at 3pm Feb, May, Sept)
