The SR-20 is just the righttool for seeking out and pin-

pointing individual pipes and ca-bles – even in extremely unfavour-

able conditions – because it is the onlyseeking device that works with an om-nidirectional antenna, guide arrows andan easy-to-read map depiction that en-ables the user to localise individual pipesand cables quickly and effectively.

The device’s 3D-antenna system ena-bles both inductive and passive localisa-tion of pipes and cables from any posi-tion and direction, independent of theuser’s location. This is an invaluable prac-tical advantage when there are obstruc-tions or in the vicinity of roads.

The device is equipped with a variety ofcutting-edge passive and active searchmodes which allow the user to singleout specific pipes or cables and localisetheir arteries, while still being able tokeep them apart from neighbouringsupply lines in places where otherpipes and cablesrun in closeproximity.

Easy to use – all the informa-tion you need at a glance

There’s no need to carry out tricky orcomplex value conversions or worryabout trying to work out what the signalscould mean, because the SR-20 portraysthe cartographic images in real-time.

The intelligent display technologychanges the cartographic depiction auto-matically depending on the set searchmode or the degree of proximity to thetargeted pipe or cable: It can change tozoom, for example, when the target isin close proximity or switch back to trans-mitter location when in probe mode.

The SR-20 is so user-friendly that youdon’t even have to take your eyes offthe display when carrying out adjust-ment settings and parameter modifica-tions: the clearly-arranged control panelcan be comfortably operated with onlyone hand even while measuring is beingcarried out.

Four active search frequencies in theSR-20 provide the versatility that acomplex search requires.

In combination with the passive searchfrequencies, you can now localise allsignals that are emitted by metallicpipes and cables within a certain area.

The advantages are obvious: Severalactive frequencies can be used to checkthe search result; passive modes enable

verification of search results or the lo-calisation of unknown pipes and cables,and extended power and radio modesassist the user in effectively searchingan area.

In addition to the preset frequencies,the SR-20 can be programmed to in-clude any individual user-defined fre-quency up to 35 kHz in any searchmode.

SeekTech Transmitter for active pipe and cable detection

Combine the SR-20 pipe and cabledetector with our SeekTech Trans-mitters to get active pipe and cabledetection.

The signals can be transferred viadirect terminal connection, inductivelyvia a transmission coil, or optionallywith an inductive signal clamp on un-derground metal pipes or cables, as required.

If required, the cables can be extendedby two 15 metre long cables.

Both transmitters are equipped withan induction dependent acoustic signaltransmitter, an energy savings modewith auto off function and an LCD dis-play with automatic backlit status indi-cator display.

The locator’s impressive, unmatchedinduction performance and the highlevel of flexibility which arise from theindividually selectable frequencies upto 93 kHz when connected directly sim-ply put the ST-33Q a cut above the rest.

The optimum op-eration mode for

every localisation taskThe SR-20 is a diagnostic device thatdetects the electromagnetic fields emit-ted by underground objects. To thisend, the detector can be used in threedifferent operating modes:

1. Passive pipe and cable localisation

In passive mode, the SR-20 searchesfor electromagnetic “noise” in under-ground supply lines. Electromagneticsignals can be induced in undergroundsupply lines in various ways.

For example, electrical appliances ra-diate these signals to a certain degreeto the electrical conductors to whichthey are connected, or undergroundsupply lines function as antennas forhigh-power, low-frequency radio trans-missions and reflect these signals.

These current and radio frequenciescan be passively detected if the fieldstrength is sufficient and thus enablethe localisation of the correspondingsupply line.

2. Active pipe and cable localisation

In this mode, the supply line whoseroute and position is to be determinedis supplied with energy by a transmit-ter, for example the ST-510, and theline is then actively localised with theselected frequency.

3. Probe mode

Used for the localisation of the signalfrom a probe in pipes, cables or tun-nels that do not conduct current orcannot be localised by other means.

For example, the SeeSnake camerasystem for pipeline inspection canbe used and the Flexmitter transmitterintegrated in the camera head canbe precisely located with the SR-20.

This combination is a particularly effective and precise method of locating leaks!
